31 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />FALCON HEIGHT S, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 11, 1972 <br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights Council was called to order by Mayor <br />Warkentien at 7:35 P.M. <br />PRESENT: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Ecklund, Stone and Taylor. Councilman Black <br />arrived at 9:05 P.M. Also present were Clerk-Administrator Barnes and <br />Attorney Seed. <br />ABSENT : None <br />Minutes: Motion by Councilman Ecklund, seconded by Councilman Stone, <br />to appznve the minutes of the regular meeting of April 27, <br />1972, as amended. Motion carried. <br />Ramsey County Mr. Douglas Fink, Director, Ramsey County League of Munici- <br />Ditch and palities, requested that the Council select one m'~nber to <br />Drainage Study: serve on a Committee to study changes in the Ramsey County <br />ditch and drainage. No action was taken. <br />Subdivision of Mr. James C. Stroud, Attorney for Mrs. Edna B. Stewart, <br />Land - 1761 North 1761 North Fairview Avenue, was present at the meeting to <br />Fairview Avenue: request approval for subdivision of land at 1761 North <br />Fairview Avenue. Motion by Councilman Stone, seconded by <br />Councilman Ecklund, that the matter of subdivision of land <br />be submitted to the Falcon Heights Planning Commission for <br />recommendation. Motion carried. <br />Justice of the Justices of the Peace Ronald Riach and Steven Nelson were <br />Peace Revised present at the meeting to discuss the new revised fins <br />Fine Schedule: schedule for the Village and they related that this new <br />schedule is now more in line with surrounding Villages. <br />Motion by Councilman Stone, seconded by Councilman Taylor, <br />to authorize the Clerk-Administrator to publish the stew <br />revised fine schedule. <br />Prosecutions by Also reported by the Justices of the Peace was the proposal <br />University of to negotiate with University Law students to handle all <br />Minnesota Law prosecutions for the Village, except Change of Venue or <br />Students: Appeals, one court night a week, the Village to schedule <br />all court cases for this one night. They would be ready <br />to start Monday, June 19, 1972, fora 6 month period. The <br />expenses for the prosecutor would be subject to approval of <br />the Clerk-Administrator. The Justices of the Peace reported <br />that they would like to meet.'::. with Ramsey County Sheriffs <br />for added cooperation in arraignments. <br />Motion by Councilman Taylor, seconded by Councilman Stone, <br />that the Mayor and Clerk-Administrator be authorized to <br />enter into an agreement with the University of Minnesota <br />Law students, to prosecute court cases fora 6 month period, <br />for the Village of Falcon Heights, at a cost of $25 per <br />evening and necessary expenses subject to approval of the <br />Clerk Administrator. Motion carried. <br />
