~9~ <br />and Raaggles, except the South 522 feet; the East 167 <br />feet of the South (~) half of the East 8 acres of the <br />Northeast (3~ quarter of Section 15, Township 29, Range <br />23, Ramsey County, Minnesota, which the building inspec- <br />tor has approved, ~ .arid WHEREAS, Zoning Ordinance for a <br />corner lot states that the house must be built 30 feet <br />from the street on the side street and 7~ feet frown <br />the side line, wad WfH;REAS, they have purchased an 85 <br />foot lot and would like to build a house that is 50 feet <br />wide, but if the house is situated 30 feet from Ruggles, <br />there will be only 5 feet remaining on the opposite <br />side, and WHFftEAS, the building inspector suggested that <br />they request the Councils perniission to place the house <br />27~ feet from Ruggles, so that there will be 7?~ feet <br />remaining on the opposite side. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that since time is <br />of the essence, the variance be granted without the <br />necessity of going to the Planning Commission. Mayor <br />Warkentien seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Variance - Councilman Black moved that the variance and conditional <br />Arden Hill In- use request by the Arden Hi11 Investment Company, for <br />vestment Co. the building of apartments at 1830 W. Larpenteur, be re- <br />Apartments on ferred to the Village Engineer and then to the Planning <br />1830 W. Larpenteur: Commission for their recommendation. CounciLaan Stone <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Sign Proposals Discussion of a sign for the Municipal Liquor Store was <br />for Liquor Store: delayed until the meeting of November 9, 1972, in order <br />to have more time to prepare and gather estimates. <br />Liquor Store Mayor Warkentien moved that the Village delete the clause <br />Carpeting: in the Antler Corporation contract of the Municipal Liquor <br />Store for installation of the carpeting and authorize the <br />Clerk Administrator to get proposals and make recommendations <br />for carpeting at the next meeting. Councilman Black sec- <br />onded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Security System Discussion of a security system for the Municipal Liquor <br />Liquor Store: Store was delayed until the regular meeting of November <br />9, 1972, in order to have more time to prepare and gather <br />quotations. <br /> Liquor Store Mayor Warkentien moved that the Clerk-Ac~ninistrator be <br /> Manager: authorized to hire George J. Willkom, 1269 W. Idaho Avenue, <br /> St. Paul, Minnesota, for the Municipal Liquor Store <br /> manager, for a salary of $12,500.00, with hospital, sick <br /> leave and vacation benefits, effective November 16, 1972, <br /> with a probation period of 6 months. It was also stip- <br /> ulated that the Village will not provide any life insurance <br /> for Mr. Willkom. <br /> Councilman Black seconded the motion and upon a vote being <br /> taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor <br /> Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Stone, and Councilwoaaan <br /> Stocker, and the following voted against: Councilman <br /> Ecklund, Whereupon the motion was passed. <br />
