1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />MIP~'UTES OF REGULAR COUPICIL 141EETING <br />FALCOAI TIEIGHTS, MIP~tESOTA <br />FEBRUARY 8., 1973 <br />~~ <br />A regular meeting of the Faleon Heights Village Council was called to order by <br />Acting P~iayor Stone at 7:31 P.Ivi. <br />PRESENT: Councilmen Black, Ecklund, and Stone. P4a.~ror Warkentien <br />arrived at 9:30 P.14`. as rye was delayed by a business meeting, <br />and Councilwoman Stocker arrived at 9:37 P.i~I. after attending <br />a meeting of the P•:etropolitan League of P~Iunicipalities. <br />Also present were Clerk-Administrator Barnes, Engineer Lemberg, <br />and Attorney Kenefick. <br />ABSEPdT : None. <br />A~inutes: Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund, to <br />approve the minutes of the meeting of January 25, 1973, as <br />corrected. Iwiotion carried. <br />Variance Request of Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund, to <br />National Surplus Store: defer the sign request by Universal Signs for the ;rational <br />Surplus Store, 1511 W. Larpenteur Avenue, until the next <br />meeting, as per the request of i~Ir. Phil Barber, owner of the <br />Pational Surplus Store. <br />Public Sauna Operation: T`ir. James Isaacson and r7r. Aurelio Grott, representing Soft <br />Touch Saunas, Inc., 1521 South Cedar Avenue, Richfield, <br />P~innesota, were present at the meeting to discuss the operation <br />of their proposed sauna at 153 W. Larpenteur Avenue. <br />Attorney Kenefick reported that there is nothing in the <br />Village Ordinance, prohibiting an operation of this type. <br />The Council asked that it be given more specific information, <br />in writing, on the sauna, including the size of the sauna, <br />how many customers can utilize the facility at one time, the <br />number of employees, the hours of operation, and a complete <br />floor plan of the office space. The Council also requested <br />that Attorney Kenefick draft an ordinance for the Councils <br />approval. The matter will again be brought up on February <br />22, 1973. <br />Public Hearing - P~~r. James C. Stroud, Attorney At .Law, 216It St. Clair Avenue, <br />Stewart Property: was present at the meeting in regard to the Public T?eating <br />on the subdivision of tl~e Stewart property, 1761 Pd. Fairview <br />Avenue. ?ie stated that as of the meeting he was not able to <br />procure all of tl~e necessary information needed for the <br />Councils approval. The Public ~iearing was continued until <br />February 22, 1973. <br />Law Enforcement Councilman Stone moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund, to <br />Services Agreement: approve the 1973 Law Enforcement Services Agreement with the <br />Ramsey County Sheriffs Department, in accordance with the <br />August 1fi, 1972, revised terms and conditions of the contract <br />agreement dated January l1, 1967.
