s <br />4 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA <br />APRIL 26, 1973 <br />a <br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights Village Council was called to order by <br />Acting Mayor Stone at 7:30 P.M. <br />Councilmen Black, Ecklund, and Stone. Also present <br />were Clerk Administrator Barnes, Engineer Lemberg, <br />and Attorney Kenefick. <br />Mayor Warkentien until 8:21 P.M., and Councilwoman <br />Stocker until 7:t~0 P.M. <br />Councilman Ecklund moved, seconded by Councilman Black, <br />to approve the minutes of the meeting of April 12, 1973, <br />as corrected. Motion carried. <br />Mike Gair and Roger Wadnal, students of the tniversity of <br />Minnesota, were present at the meeting to present plans <br />for the new community park. They discussed plans for <br />obtaining fill for the site, and stated that they might <br />be able to get some fill from the University where there <br />are two new buildings being erected. Engineer Lemberg <br />suggested that the boys get in touch with him at his <br />office for further work on the plans. <br />PRESENT <br />ABSENT <br />MINUTES <br />COMMUNITY PARK <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund, VARIANCE REQUEST <br />to approve a variance request submitted by Mr. Arthur ARTHUR LINDIG <br />Lindig, 1875 W. Larpenteur Avenue, for the erection of 1875 W. LARPENTEUR <br />a steel utility building at said address, within one <br />foot of the property line, subject to the approval of <br />the Falcon Heights Planning Commission, Motion carried, <br />John Labalestra and Gene Gasparro of Lidos Cafe were <br />present to discuss their plans to apply for a building <br />permit for the remodeling and addition of the restaurant. <br />Plans for the Pub Lido, located in the basement portion <br />of the building, the addition of a party room on the <br />east side of the building, the enclosing 9f 35 feet <br />across the front of the building, where the canopy is <br />now located, and parking facilities were discussed. <br />Mr. Don Rye, Midwest Planning and Research, Inc. was <br />present to explain and answer questions on the report <br />submitted to the Council on his proposal for planning <br />services for the Village of Falcon Heights. <br />Councilwoman Stocker moved, seconded by Councilman Stone, <br />to authorize the Mayor and Clerk-Administrator to <br />execute a contract with Midwest Planning and Research, <br />to go through items one and two as written, and item <br />three with the stipulation that the contract can be <br />reassessed after 3-B or 3-D, at the itemized cost. <br />Motion carried. <br />Councilman Stone moved, seconded by Councilman Black, <br />that Ordinance l27 pertaining to bottle clubs, tabled <br />at the last meeting be reconsidered.
