After discussion by the Council, it was decided that ORDiNANCE 127 <br />Ordinance 127 be'tabled until a later date. BOTTLE CLUBS <br />The application for the set-up license, submitted by SET-UP APPLICATION <br />Mr. Clem Lehnen of Falcon Bowling Lanes was tabled, FALCON LANES <br />and the Council asked that the Ramsey County Sheriff's <br />Department be notified and asked to make periodic <br />checks on the business to see that curfew and closing <br />hours are being observed. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilwoman Stocker, HIRING OF ASSISTANT <br />to authorize George J. Stielow, 1509 Elrose, South St. MAINTENANCE MAN <br />Paul, Minnesota, as an assistant maintenance man, at <br />the fee of $560.00 per month, subject to a physical and <br />six months probation. Motion carried. <br />Al Helbig, Henry Dachtera, Robert Dowdell, Joseph Bianchi, <br />and Frank Wandmacher of the Fire Relief Association were <br />present at the meeting to discuss the proposed changes <br />in the Fire Relief pension plan. Chief Helbig presented <br />the proposed changes which wo u1.d include: a lump sum <br />payment of a service pension to any person performing <br />active duty for twenty years or more and who has reached <br />the age of 50 years old. No person may perform duties <br />in excess of twenty years service unless that service <br />is approved jointly b~* a majority of members of the Council <br />and Relief Association, and no volunteer fireman can <br />continue service after the age of 65. An increase in <br />pension from $~t00.00 prior to January 1, 197, to $1,000.00 <br />after January 1, 1971, for each full year of service. <br />Said pension will be set by a Village ordinance and must <br />also be justified by an actuarial survey. The changes <br />also provide for a lump sum payment for a member who <br />dies in the line of duty of not more than $2,500.00, or <br />$100.00 for each full year of service for a deceased <br />member who has not died in the line of duty. <br />Councilwoman Stocker introduced the following Resolution <br />and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION 7~ 12 <br />RESOLT~TION SUPPORTING THE PROPOSED CHANGES IN THE FIRE <br />RELIEF ASSOCIATIONI BY-LAWS <br />Mayor Warkentien seconded the foregoing Resolution. <br />Motion unanimously carried. <br />The matter on security lights on the maintenance garage <br />was tabled. <br />The Council authorized the Clerk Administrator to re- <br />quire a purchase order number on all purchases made, <br />which are to be paid by the Village. <br />Attorney Kenefick reported that the lawsuit concerning <br />the Soft-Touch Sauna operation which the co-owners were <br />going to file against the Village of Falcon Heights <br />for discriminatory practices was being dropped. <br /> <br />FIRE RELIEF ASSOCIATION <br />PROPOSED PENSION PLAN <br />SECURITY LIGHTS <br />PURCHASE ORDERS <br />SAUNA LAWSUIT <br />
