Councilman Black seconded the foregoing Resolution, and <br />upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br />favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, <br />Ecklund, and Stone, and Councilwoman Stocker, and the <br />following voted against the same: None. Motion carried. <br />Councilwoman Stocker moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, <br />that a letter be written to the University of Minnesota <br />Regents, thanking them for their consideration of the <br />Village's request for a twenty year lease extension of <br />the Falcon Woods Recreation Area, which the Regents <br />granted at their meeting of August 10, 1973. Motion <br />carried. <br />The report of Engineer Lemberg giving the Council esti- <br />mated cost figures for the Community Park was noted. <br />Engineer Lemberg recommended that a special meeting be <br />set up with the Recreation Committee, to determine the <br />types of facilities the community desires and needs. <br />A special meeting was set for September 11, 1973, at <br />the Village Hall, at 7:30 P.M., to be attended by <br />members of the Village Council, Recreation Committee, <br />Planning Commission, and all interested citizens <br />within a 300 foot radius of the park area. Clerk Ad- <br />ministrator Barnes was authorized to notify the above <br />people informing them of the meeting. <br />The use of State Aid Improvement Funds will be dis- <br />cussed at the regular meeting of September 27, 1973, <br />and inspection of the streets will be made at 7:30 <br />P.M. before the meeting of October 11, 1973. <br />Budget meetings were scheduled far September 19, and <br />2t~, 1973, to be held at the Village Ha11 at 7:30 P.M. <br />Councilman Ecklund moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, <br />that Mr. Tames Hoe1, 126b Garden Avenue, be authorized <br />to do the snowplowing for the Village of Falcon Heights <br />for the year 1973-1971, as per the contract on file in <br />the Village Clerks office. The areas to be plowed <br />include the Village Ha11 and Fire Station parking lot, <br />the Mun3.cipal Liquor Store parking lot, and the Village <br />skating rinks. Motion carried. <br />It was agreed by the Council that they do not wish to <br />alter the procedure used by Ramsey County to plow <br />the public streets in the Village. This matter was <br />brought up due to the request of Ramsey County, that <br />the Council consider alternate plowing procedures. <br />Attorney Kenefick presented information to the Council <br />regarding the Municipalities Uniform Code, a copy of <br />which is on file in the C1erk~s office, and stated <br />that this code will go into effect on January 1, 1971. <br />Falcon Heights may retain its Village Status, but when <br />dealing with any other agency must use a City designa- <br />tion.
