Councilman Black seconded the foregoing Resolution, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, and Stone, and Councilwoman Stocker, and the following voted against the same: None. Motion carried. Councilwoman Stocker moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, that a letter be written to the University of Minnesota Regents, thanking them for their consideration of the Village's request for a twenty year lease extension of the Falcon Woods Recreation Area, which the Regents granted at their meeting of August 10, 1973. Motion carried. The report of Engineer Lemberg giving the Council esti- mated cost figures for the Community Park was noted. Engineer Lemberg recommended that a special meeting be set up with the Recreation Committee, to determine the types of facilities the community desires and needs. A special meeting was set for September 11, 1973, at the Village Hall, at 7:30 P.M., to be attended by members of the Village Council, Recreation Committee, Planning Commission, and all interested citizens within a 300 foot radius of the park area. Clerk Ad- ministrator Barnes was authorized to notify the above people informing them of the meeting. The use of State Aid Improvement Funds will be dis- cussed at the regular meeting of September 27, 1973, and inspection of the streets will be made at 7:30 P.M. before the meeting of October 11, 1973. Budget meetings were scheduled far September 19, and 2t~, 1973, to be held at the Village Ha11 at 7:30 P.M. Councilman Ecklund moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, that Mr. Tames Hoe1, 126b Garden Avenue, be authorized to do the snowplowing for the Village of Falcon Heights for the year 1973-1971, as per the contract on file in the Village Clerks office. The areas to be plowed include the Village Ha11 and Fire Station parking lot, the Mun3.cipal Liquor Store parking lot, and the Village skating rinks. Motion carried. It was agreed by the Council that they do not wish to alter the procedure used by Ramsey County to plow the public streets in the Village. This matter was brought up due to the request of Ramsey County, that the Council consider alternate plowing procedures. Attorney Kenefick presented information to the Council regarding the Municipalities Uniform Code, a copy of which is on file in the C1erk~s office, and stated that this code will go into effect on January 1, 1971. Falcon Heights may retain its Village Status, but when dealing with any other agency must use a City designa- tion.
