This payment permitted the north east quadrant of the <br />Village bounded by Snelling on the west, Larpenteur on <br />the south, Roselawn on the north and Hamline on the <br />east, to drain its storm water into the Ramsey County <br />Pumping Station Pit where it was lifted by force into <br />the Nebraska - Hoyt System at Idaho and Chelsea in <br />the City of St. Paul. <br />Nilsen also said that the City of St. Paul Ordinance <br />10829 expressly stated the following: <br />"That said Village of Falcon Heights in addition to <br />all other charges and as part of its obligations <br />hereunder, shall at its own cost and expense, and by <br />appropriate engineering methods, provide therefore <br />and coninuously divert all storm and surface water <br />from the area within its Village limits lying north <br />of Larpenteur Avenue, and easterly into the Ramsey <br />County Pit which lies north of Laroenteur Avenue and <br />east of Hamline Avenue." <br />Nilsen further said that it was his opinion that th e <br />proposed construction of the grade separation project <br />by the Minnesota Highway Department drastically curtailed <br />the plans for the Larpenteur Avenue storm sewer con- <br />structed by and as apart of the Larpenteur Avenue <br />reconstruction by the County of Ramsey. He further <br />said that the grade separation barrier forced the <br />Falcon Heights area west of Snelling and north of <br />Larpenteur into the so-called St. Anthony Storm <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, <br />that Engineer Lemberg be authorized to conduct a <br />Storm Sewer Study of the northwest area of the City <br />of Falcon Heights, as n roposed, at a cost not to <br />exceed $2,500.00. Motion unanimously carried. <br />Sewer System. <br />Engineer Lemberg then presented data concerning the DRAINAGE STUDY PROPOSAL <br />Drainage Study Cost Proposeal for the Porthwest See Minutes - 2-11~-7l~ <br />Quadrant and noted two examples of municipalities <br />where a study of this type had been conducted. <br />Fire reports numbers 9 and 10 were noted. FIRE REPORTS <br />Sheriff's report for January, 197t~, was noted. SHERIFF ~S REPORT <br />Recreation report for February, 19?t~, was noted. RECREATION REPORT <br />A letter from George Carver of the Falcon Heights Human HUMAN RIGHTS COMT4ISSIOPI <br />Rights Commission asking for the equal representation CORRESPONDENCE <br />of men and women on committees in the City of Falcon <br />Heights, was noted. <br />Councilman Black requested that the City obtain some RECPEATION COMMUNITY <br />information regarding the Roseville Recreation Education ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br />Advisory Committee, of Roseville School District 623, <br />relating to the levying of taxes approved by the <br />legislature, administrative costs and their proposed <br />budget. <br /> <br />
