A letter from Mr. Sam Spiegler, owner of the apart- <br />ments was read also requesting that parking on the west <br />side of Fry Street be allowed to continue. <br />It was the intent of the Council to grant the request for <br />the winter months, hoping that Mr. Spiegler would take <br />action to provide more parking space in his parking lot, <br />which Mr. Spiegler feels would not be feasible. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund, <br />that parking be allowed to continue on the west side of <br />Fry Street indefinitely. Motion carried. <br />Action was deferred until June 13, 197t~, regarding the <br />request of the Fire Department for the purchase of <br />radio receivers. <br />No action was taken on the request for a donation for <br />the Ramsey County Junior Sheriffs Association. <br />Councilman Black read the minutes of the Falcon Heights <br />Planning Commission which had convened on Tuesday, May <br />21, 1974, and recommended that the City Council approve <br />the application for a narking variance and variance from <br />the ten foot side yard set-back, as submitted by John A. <br />Labalestra of the Lido Cafe, Inc., 1611 W. Larpenteur <br />Avenue. <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Steele, <br />to approve the variance for parking, as the requirements <br />• are met in accordance with the plans submitted for the <br />proposed addition to the Lido Cafe.
