DELETING PART C AT THIS TIME, AS PER THE RECOMMENDATION <br />OF THE CITY ENGINEER <br />Councilwoman Stocker seconded the foregoing Resolution, <br />and upon a vote being taken thereon, the follokd.ng voted <br />in favor thereof: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, <br />Ecklund, and Steele, and Councilwoman Stocker. Motion <br />unanimously carried. <br /> <br />/"~ <br />U <br />Councilwoman Stocker moved, seconded by Councilman Black, <br />that the Council approve the request of A11an Law, <br />2717 Stevens Avenue, Sotath, Minneapoils, who is requesting <br />that the Minneapolis Recreation Development organization <br />be allowed to sell candy in the City of Falcon Heights, <br />the proceeds to be used for recreational activities for <br />under privileged children. Upon a vote being taken <br />thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor <br />Warkentien, Councilman Black, and Councilwoman Stocker, <br />and the following voted against the same: Councilman <br />Steele. Councilman Ecklund abstained. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Keith Hofeld, owner of the K & K Hardware, which will <br />be occupying the building formerly leased by Krause's <br />Bakery, was present to request a conditional use to <br />utilize the existing protruding sign on th e front of the <br />building. They will also be using the existing signs <br />on the front of the building, but will just be changing <br />the plastic facing. <br />It was the City Attorney's opinion that this sign was <br />a prior non-conforming use, therefore, no action was <br />taken. <br />Clerk-Administrator Barnes reported on the meeting held <br />at White Bear Lake, on May 10, 197t~, in regards to the <br />Ramsey County Proposal to establish a joint powers for <br />tree chipping operations, and recommended that the <br />Council not commit the City to said proposal. He also <br />stated that he has written to the State Agricultural <br />Department regarding the passage of legislation re- <br />quiring each community to adopt a tree maintenance <br />program. A copy of the Falcon Heights ordinance and <br />tree maintenance program has been submitted to the <br />State Department for their review to determine if th e <br />City's existing aid and program do comply S,ii.th the <br />law. <br />44 <br />REQUEST BY MINNEAPOLIS <br />RECREATIONAL DEVELOPMENT <br />PROGRAM <br />CONDITIONAL USE REQUEST <br />K & K HARDWARE - 1535 <br />W. LARPENTEUR- <br />TREE PROGRAM <br />Councilman Steele requested that the Clerk-Administrator TREE MAINTENANCE <br />contact the City Horticulturist, Dr. Hard, and request <br />that he give a cost proposal for a proposed maintenance <br />and replacement of trees program for the City. <br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, that PROPOSED ORDINANCE - STOVES <br />the Attorney be authorized to draft an ordinance per- & BARBECUES ON PATIOS <br />taining to the use of stoves or barbecues on apartment <br />patios. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilwoman Stocker, REVENUE SHARING USAGE <br />to approve the use of the 197l~-1975 Revenue Sharing <br />for Public Saf ety, and also authorizing the Clerk-Ad- <br />miuistrator to publish the Proposed Use Report in the <br />
