MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL T'TETTIPIG ~ 8 <br />FALCON HEIGHTS, PTINNESOTA <br />JULY 25, 197 <br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to order by Mayor <br />Warkentien at 8:00 P.M. <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele, and PRESENT <br />Labalestra. Also present were Clerk-Administrator Barnes, <br />Engineer Lemberg and Attorney Kenefick. <br />None. ABSENT <br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Steele, MINUTES <br />to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of July <br />11, 197t~, as corrected. T~Iotion carried. <br />Councilman Labalestra moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, <br />to aoprove the minutes of the special meeting of July <br />18, 197., as corrected. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Councilman Labalestra, DENIAL OF REQUEST FOR <br />to deny the request of Charles J. Vo1in, who requested REDUCED CIGARETTE LICENSE <br />a reduced fee for cigarette licenses, on the basis that FEES <br />he utilizes the license fir a period of eleven days <br />during the State Fair. Potion carried. <br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Councilman Labalestra, <br />to aoprove the variance request submitted by Leslie <br />Wicklund, 1790 Holton Avenue, for the widening of his <br />driveway from 8' to 20' to allow for parking, with the <br />stipulation that the death of the drive b e increased <br />to 22' to permit a car to be parked within the street <br />tree line, as per the recommendation of the Falcon <br />Heights Planning Commission. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Black reported that the Falcon Heights Planning <br />Commission approve the variance request of Millard <br />Rustad, 1372 W. Laroenteur, to allow for the erection <br />of a double garage two feet from his west property line, <br />which was approve by the Council at the special meeting <br />of July 18, 1971, subject to the approval of the Planning <br />Commission. <br />VARIANCE - 1790 HOLTON <br /> <br />VARIANCE - 1372 W. LARPENTEUR <br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund, "NO PARKING" -POSTING <br />that the east side of Fairview Avenue be posted "P1o FOR STATE FAIR <br />Parking" during the T~iinnesota State Fair, taking into <br />account that numerous tickets were issued to people <br />paxking on the boulevard last summer during the fair. <br />T~totion carried. <br />Further discussion followed pertaining to the posting <br />of City and County Streets, and also the possibility <br />of posting Hollywood Court. <br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Councilman Black, to <br />rescind the previous motion to post Fairview on the <br />east side for "Tdo Parking" during the Minnesota State <br />Fair.
