REGULAR MEETING OF JANUARY 25, 1968 <br />1 <br />1 <br />2665 <br />The regular meeting was called to-order at 7:00 P.M, with-the following <br />members presents Mayor Warkentien, Clerk Strandquist, Councilmen Black, <br />Stone and Ecklund. Also present were Treasurer Olsen, Attorney Kyle, and <br />Engineer Lemberg. <br />Representing the League of Women Voters was Mrs. Betty Irish. Thomas <br />Reiff from Alexander Ramsey and Paul Stocker from Anoka Ramsey Junior <br />College were there to observe. <br />Stone moved, Strandquist seconded that the minutes of the meeting of <br />January 11,1968 be approved. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion was carried. <br />Correspondence: <br />University of <br />Minnesota - <br />Skating Rink <br />Agreement: <br />Clerk Strandquist read letter from the University of <br />Minnesota regarding skating rink agreement. Ken Quarn, <br />village maintenance man, stated that the rink basewas not <br />evened properly. Later in the meeting a motion was <br />made by Councilman Black and seconded by Councilman <br />Stone that the Mayor and Village Clerk be authorized <br />to sign agreement for the maintenance of the skating <br />rink in the University Grove Area. Motion was carried <br />unanimously. <br />Ramsey County Clerk Strandquist read letter from Ramsey County <br />League of League of Municipalities asking that a representative <br />Municipalities: be appointed to serve on a committee for the development <br />of a plan for parks and recreation in Ramsey County. <br />The matter was tabled. <br />Tree Removal Clerk Strandquist read letter from Dr. William K. Schultz; <br />1630 Hollywood 1630 Hollywood Court, regarding two trees vest of his <br />Courts property which are rotted and should be removed. The <br />Kelm Tree Service has estimated $375.00 for doing the <br />work. N. S. P. Company will pay one-half and Dr. Schultz <br />requests that Village pay the balance. It was moved by <br />Councilman Black and seconded by Clerk Strandquist that <br />Engineer Lemberg determine exact location of trees, and <br />if on Village property, secure additional estimates for <br />their removal. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Sewer Service A representative of Webster Company defended bill of <br />Repair - 1770 No. ~t~19.79 for sewer repair work at 1770 No. Pascal Street. <br />Pascal Street: After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Stone and <br />seconded by Councilman Black that the Village pay X200 <br />of the cost. The motion was amended to include the <br />statement that payment be made jointly to contractor <br />and land owner. The amended motion carried unanimously. <br />Arthur Jorgenson - Arthur Jorgenson inquired into the possibility of <br />Zoning question: getting permission to erect multiple dwellings on the <br />property south of 1711 North Albert. He was advised to <br />apply by letter giving full specifications, also that <br />he get viewpoint of neighbors. A duplex on each lot <br />would be permissible without further action. <br />Apartment Building Mr. Jorgenson also inquired about erecting an 18 unit <br />Larpenteur Avenue apartment building on property on Larpenteur, east of <br />East of Fairview: Fairview, approximately 107 feet wide and 250 feet deep. <br />Councilman Black suggested that the property be surveyed <br />
