2713 <br />REGULAR MEETING OF MAY 9, 1968 <br />The regular meeting was called to order at 7s00 P.M. with the following <br />members present: Mayor Warkenti.en, Glerk Strandqui.st; Councilmen Ecklund <br />and Stone. Councilman Black arrived at 8:00 P.M. Also present were <br />Attorney Seed and Engineer Lemberg. <br />Pf~esent for the League of Women Votes were Mary Duddleston~ Betty Jones <br />Betty Ernst, Fay Olson. Observing ~arere Arthur Erler and Allan McCoid. <br />Roger Gratiot.of the St. Paul,Dispatch and Pioneer Press was present. <br />Minutes Stone moved, seconded by Warkentien that the minutes <br />' of the meeting of April ].1, 1968 be approved. Ayes <br />all. Nays: None., Motion was carried. <br />Ecklund moved, seconded by Stone that the minutes of <br />the meeting of April 17, 1968 be approved. Ayes: All. <br />Nays: None. Motion was carried. <br />Stone moved, Ecklund seconded that the minutes of the <br />meeting of April 25, 196$ be approved. Ayes: All. <br />Nays; None. Motion was carried. <br />Correspondences <br />University of Tn answer to Engineer Lemberg~s inquiry of March 27s <br />Minnesota - 1968 letter from E1mer.W. Learn, Assistant to the <br />Proposed Plans for President of the University of Minnesota, dated April <br />Land -Cleveland 2~., 1968 was read. In part, letter states that Univer- <br />and Roselawn Ave.: city contemplates ownership of all property rest ®f <br />Cleveland Avenue with exception of Historical Society <br />property. .Plans for area east of Cleveland, although <br />not certain, include construction of married student <br />apartments. Utility services most likely would include <br />water from the University system, and linkage with <br />Village sewer system would be preferred. When mayor <br />planning study is completed, University hopes to have <br />comprehensive plan for all activities and land use of <br />University property in Falcon Heights. <br />Data Processing Letter dated May 2, 1968 from Burton C. Spears Director <br />Department - Ramsey County Data Processing Departmaent explained <br />Assessments for amended assessment roll for Sanitary Sewer No. 1~ <br />Sanitary Se~+rer #1- beginning with the 1968 installment payable during <br />Magnetic Tape _ 1969, which roll was sent to Falcon Heights Clerk. <br />System: This is pursuant to resolution adopted by the Village <br />Council regarding Countyts use of magnetic tape systems <br />i.n lieu of punch card system. <br />Data Processing <br />Department - <br />Magnetic Tape <br />System - Flow <br />Chart! <br />State of Minnesota <br />Social-Security <br />for Elected <br />Officials: <br />Letter from Burton C. Spear dated May 2 was regarding <br />the new magnetic tape system and enclosed a ~flc~w charts <br />of procedures used in filing records. It appears that <br />no changes are necessary as far as Falcon Heights Clerks <br />records are concerned. <br />Notice from Harry Groschel, Directory Social Security <br />Retirement Division, State of Minnesota was regarding <br />social security coverage of elected public officials. <br />In part, notice stated that all local governmental <br />
