2 <br /> REGULAR Fv~ETING OF JULY 11, 1968 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.~g. with the following members <br />resent: Ma <br />or Wa <br />k <br />ti <br />C <br />il <br />p <br />y r <br />en <br />en, <br />ounc <br />men Stone and Ecklund. Absent: Clerk <br />Strandquist (who is recuperating from a heart attack) and Councilman Black. <br />Also present were Attorney Seed and Engineer Lemberg. (who was on vacation) <br />Roger Gratiot from the St. Paul Dispatch and Pioneer Press was present. <br />Minutes Stone moved, seconded by Ecklund that the minutes of the <br /> meeting of June 27 be approved as corrected. Ayess All. <br />~ <br /> Nayss <br />None. Motion was carried. <br />Ed Salverda - Ed Salverda was present to answer questions regarding <br />Re: Electrical electrical inspections. He advised. that under the present <br />Inspections: system, the Falcon Heights electrical inspector is appointed <br /> by the State Board of Electricity and the Village receives <br /> no percentage.. of permit fees. If the Village Council is of <br /> the opinion it would be feasible to adopt an ordinance <br /> similar to Roseville~s ordinance, this village would receive <br /> a certain amount or about 20~ of the total amount of each <br /> permit issued. <br /> Warkentien moved, seconded by Stone that the Village <br /> attorney be authorized to take the necessary steps to <br /> enable the Village of Falcon Heights to appoint its own <br /> electrical inspector using the state fee schedule and <br /> the state certificates. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion <br /> wad carried. , <br />Striping of Mr. Salverda, as county commissioner, was asked to see <br />' Lanes -Larpenteur what he could do to speed up striping the lanes on <br />Avenues.. Larpenteur Avenue from Fry Street to Albert Street. <br />Village Clerk's Stone moved, seconded by Warkentien that the following <br />Duties to be resolution be adopted: <br />discharged by <br />deputy clerks BE TT RESOLVED that the Deputy Clerk, Matina G. <br />. Vavoulis, is hereby authorized and directed to discharge <br /> a17. duties of the Village Clerk, Herbert H. Si;randquis~t, <br /> including but not limited to signing all Village of Falcon <br /> Heights warrants, except the duty of serving as a voting <br /> member of the Village Council, until the Village Clerk is <br /> physically capable of resuming his duties. <br /> Upon a vote being taken, the following voted in favor of <br /> same s ~4'~arkentien, Stone and Eck7.und and the following <br /> voted against same: None. Whereupon said resolution was <br /> declared passed and adopted. <br />Al Helbig - Fire Fire Chief Al Helbig presented requisition for 75 feet of <br />Chiefs hose for use in watering the grass around the village hall. <br />Requisition for Ecklund moved, seconded by 1arkentien that 75 feet length of <br />garde3~~hoses 5~8~~ garden hose of good quality rubber be purchased. Ayess <br /> Warkentien, Stone, Ecklund. Nayss None. Motion carried. <br />Fire reports: Fire reports were reviewed. Fire Department inspection <br /> reports of Stellians Appliance Store and Jurgensonis agar tr- <br /> ment building at 1707 Tatum Street were reviewed. <br />
