~~ <br />2 744 <br />Fire Dept. <br />(continued) <br />Brush pile. <br />1870 West <br />Roselawn: <br />Ecklund suggested that the Fire Department burn <br />at the brush pile located on the property at 1870 <br />West Roselawn Avenue. <br />Maintenance Department <br />Ken Quarn Report: <br />Trees <br />Roof of <br />Village Ha11: <br />Weeds: <br />Kenneth Quarn, maintenance department, was present and <br />advised that he had made inspection of village trees with <br />a technician from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. <br />Technician suggested that trees located on boulevards <br />at 1365 California and 1364 California Avenue be removed. <br />Stone moved, seconded by Ecklund that these two trees be <br />placed on list of trees authorized for removal at sole <br />future date. Ayes: A1.1. Nays: None. Motion carried. <br />Quarn and Engineer Lemberg were instructed to make survey <br />of all trees and make report to the council. <br />It was stated that the roof of the village hall needs <br />repairs. <br />Quarn advised that weed notices as required have been sent and <br />with the exception of two lots, it appears that all property <br />owners have complied with the law. <br />Arthur Jorgenson After discussion Warkentien moved that the application of <br />Variance Requests- Arth~zr Jorgenson for a conditional use permit to build an <br />180 Vilest Larpenteur apartment building consisting of eighteen units be <br />Proposed Apartment referred to the Planning Commission for study and <br />Building -Conditional recommendation. Further that two variances referring <br />Use Request: to (1) Six parking spaces be approved at width of <br />811"...instead of required 9' width, and (2) land area <br />of 25,823 square feet instead of 27,000 square feet as <br />required, be referred to the Planning Commission. <br />Motion was seconded by Stone and upon a vote being <br />taken, the following was recorded: .Ayes: All. Nays: <br />None. Motion was carried. <br />Correspondences <br />Workmen's Compen- Order of Reference and Notice of Hearing was received <br />sation Commission from Workmen's Compensation Commission, Department of <br />Notice of Hearing Labor and Industry with regard to issue of employe Dewey <br />Dewey A.Smiths A. Smith, Jr. versus Village of Falcon Heights and Iowa <br />National Mutual Insurance Company and Bituminous Casualty <br />Corporation and State Treasurer, Custodian of Special <br />Compensation Fund. Order was originally set for August <br />12, 1968 and reset to September 16, 1968 at 9100 a.m. <br />Dutch Elm Disease Letter from Vernon Hoysler, McLeod County Agricultural <br />Survey: Agent advised of survey with Department of Horticulture <br />at the University of Minn. on .Dutch Elm disease and on <br />the use of container grown plants. Survey form was <br />enclosed and request to complete same was made. <br />Falcon Heights Congrega- Stone moved, seconded by Ecklund that the Grant of <br />tional Church Property -Easement between the Board of Trustees of the Falcon Heights <br />Grant of Easement Congregational Church and the Village of Falcon Heights, <br />Storm Sewer Extensions which has now been received, is hereby approved..
