MEETING OF September 12, 1968 <br /> <br />2 772 <br />The regular meeting was called to~order at 7:00 P.M. with the folloRi.ng <br />members presents Mayor Warkentien, Clerk Strandquist~ Councilmen Black, <br />Ecklund and Stone. Also present were Engineer Lemberg Attorney Seed and <br />Treasurer Olsen. <br />Minutes Stone moved, seconded. by Ecklund that the minutes of <br />the meeting of August 29, 1968 be approved. Ayers 1117.. <br />Nays; None. Motion was carried. <br />Correspondence <br />Hemline Avenue Letter dated September 11, 1968 from R. W. Turn7.und~ <br />Watermains Village Manager of Roseville, was in regard to joint <br />project for construction of watermain on Hemline Avenue. <br />Included. in letter was request to connect.one home now <br />under construction to the existing three inch main on <br />Connection to Hemline Avenue. This home is being built for Delbert <br />water requested Schmidt and is located at 1770 North Hemline Avenue or <br />by Roseville Lot 71, Block 2, Gottfried Addition. <br />Residents <br />Ecklund moved, seconded by Stone that request be granted <br />and that connection be made to the existing 6N main <br />rather than the 3" main as mentioned in Turnlundts letter. <br />Ayes: A11. Nays; None. Motion was carried. _ <br />1 <br />1 <br />Clerk was instructed~to address communication to <br />Turnlund stating that connecting to the 6" main would <br />necessitate angling of the service slightly to the north. <br />Also, that it is understood that no other connection will <br />be allowed to Hemline Avenue watermain until such ti me <br />as agreement is .reached between Village of Falcon Heights <br />and Roseville to install a 6" watermain where the 3" one <br />now exists. <br />Hemline Avenue Lemberg advised that he and Richard Turnlund, pursuant <br />Watermains to authorization of council at meeting of August 29, met <br />with engineers at the St. Paul Water Departm®nt. It was <br />agreed that both sides of Hemline Avenue could hook up <br />to a single main. St. Paul Engineer Clifford Hamblin <br />advised that the, St. Paul Water Deprtment could not <br />participate in costs to help replace the existing 3" main <br />and that was not included in part of the villages .. <br />maintenance fund. St. Paul does not have funds for this <br />purpose. The City of St. Paul could install a new main <br />or the Village of Falcon Heights could install it. If <br />St. Paul did, the cost would be about X5.00 a front foot <br />for ;both sides and Falcon Heights would be responsible <br />for the street. Lemberg advised that the alternative <br />would be to enter into a joint venture with Roseville, <br />divide the cost, then St. Paul would not own any part of <br />it, but they would inspect it as is the usual practice. <br />Resolution Black introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />Calling Public adoptions <br />Bearing ®n <br />Hemline Avenue WHEREtI~S, the Village Council deems it necessary and <br />Watermain expedient that the Village of Falcon Heights, Minnesota <br />Improvements <br />
