2823 <br />Typewriter: Strandquist moved, Stone seconded that the Village purchase <br />a Rx~yal 550 Electric Typewriter for $312.75 less any s~l.owance <br />on the old machine for the Clerk's office. Ayes: All. <br />Nays: None. Motion carried. <br />Office Supplies: Strandquist:moved, Warkentien seconded that the Village purchase <br />supplies in the amount of $103.75 for the Clerk's office. <br />Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. <br />Water Main Extens: William Baumiester Construction Company, in its letter of <br />November 26, 1968, requested permission to extend the xater <br />main on Snelling Avenue approximately 1@O' to service the <br />Pizza Hut, 1610 Snelling Avenue. Brad Lemberg, Engineer, <br />approved the plans with the stipulation that they get approval <br />from the St. Paul Water Department and the State of Minnesota. <br />Black moved acceptehce with the stipulation that all surfacing <br />disturbed by the excavation be returned to--its original <br />condition. Stone seconded. Ayes: All. Nays: None. <br />Motion carried. <br />Two-Way Radios: ®onner Communications Purchase Order for the Two-Way Radios <br />and Moi~ile Units was signed by the Mayor and Clerk. <br />Hamline Avenue Water Mayor Warkentien moved, Stone seconded that the Village Engineer <br />Main: prepare plans and specifications preliminary to asking for bids <br />for the water main on Hamline Avenue. Ayes: Unanimous. <br />Motion carried. <br />Tree Trimming: Mayor Warkentien moved, Stone seconded that tree work under the <br />supervision of C. G. Hard through-Northland Tree Service be <br />done in the amour of $990.00 throughout the Village. Ayes: All. <br />Nays: None. Motion carried. <br />Plumbing License: Strandquist moved, Black seconded that the plumbing application <br />from Equipment Supply Corporation be accepted providing the <br />Village receives an application acid Attorney Seed approves. <br />Ayes: A11. Nays: None. Notion carried. <br />Fire Report: Ecklund read Fire Report No. 761. <br />Lock for Fire Dept. Ecklund stated that the door from the hallway to Fire Department <br />Door: should be kept locked after the first of the year when the firemen <br />are gone. The Engineer will look into lock systems for the door. <br />Insurance: Northland Agency sent another policy and bill for one year. <br />This will be held until January 1, 1969 when the insurance <br />policies have been bid upon and settled. Mr. Black pointed <br />out that the Village may have to cancel the policy and pay <br />the premium for one month. <br />Insurance Claim: Ed Diamond's claim against the Village for backing into an <br />open sewer excavation was presented. The Council took the <br />position that the responsibility, if any, was that of Rosetown <br />Sanitation, who did the work. <br />Metro Council: Black referred to the minutes of November ].la., 1968 concerning <br />the Metro Council in connection with their hiring policies. He <br />moved, seconded by Stone, that the Council rescind the proposed <br />action, the reason being a conversation with a staff member of <br />the Metropolitan Council. Ayes: Unanimous.
