2830 <br />REGULAR MEETING OF DECEMBER 26, 1968 <br />Regular meeting of December 26, 1968 was called to order at 7:00 P.M. with the <br />following members present: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Stone and Ecklund, <br />and Clerk Strandquist. Also Present were: Treasurer Olsen and Attorney Seed. <br />Minutes: Stone moved, seconded by Ecklund that the minutes of <br />the meeting of December 12, 1968 be approved as corrected. <br />Ayes: Unanimous. Motion carried. <br />Check #4598 to Clerk Strandquist advised that he was of the opinion that <br />Midway Typewriter: the adding machine in the Clerk's Office was under a guarantee; <br />however, Midway Typewriter Exchange sent the Village a bill <br />for its repair. Strandquist will check into the matter. <br />Tree Inspection: C. Gustav Hard, Tree Consultant, advised the Council by <br />informal not that due to the low evidence of tree disease, <br />no spray program would be warranted at this time. <br />Licenses: <br />Webster Co., Inc. Ecklund moved, seconded by Black that the application for a <br />for Sewer Installer Sewer Installer's License from Webster Co., Inc., 845 Edgerton, <br />License: be approved. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. <br />Harris Plbg & Htg Black moved, seconded by Stone that the application for a <br />for Master Gas Master Gas Installer's License from Harris Plumbing and Heating <br />Installer License: Company, 2296 Territorial Road be approved. Ayes: All. <br />Nays: None. Motion carried. <br />Wick and Young for Ecklund moved, Strandquist seconded that the request from <br />Christmas Trees: Wick and Young for a Christmas Tree License in the State <br />Fairgrounds be approved. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Mot ion carriec <br />Fire Department: Fire Reports #763 and 764 were read by Ecklund. <br />Variance from Sussel The application was referred to the Planning Commission <br />Co. for 1438 W. Iowa: at the meeting of December 12, 1968. The Planning Commission <br />advised, in their report of December 21, 1968: <br />"The Planning Commission recommends that variance be granted <br />to reduce rearyard setback to 2 feet and sideyard to 2 feet <br />as long as this garage will not extend closer to rear or <br />side lines than existing." <br />Black and Stone went to view the particular area with a <br />representative from Sussel Company. Upon their return, <br />Black moved, seconded by Stone that the following resolution <br />'~ be adopted: <br />WHEREAS, Sussel Company on behalf of Thomas Keene <br />has made an application for a variance permit to construct <br />a double garage on property located at 1438 W. Iowa <br />which property is zoned R-l, with a sideyard setback of <br />two feet and no rearyard setback, and <br /> <br />
