2830 REGULAR MEETING OF DECEMBER 26, 1968 Regular meeting of December 26, 1968 was called to order at 7:00 P.M. with the following members present: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Stone and Ecklund, and Clerk Strandquist. Also Present were: Treasurer Olsen and Attorney Seed. Minutes: Stone moved, seconded by Ecklund that the minutes of the meeting of December 12, 1968 be approved as corrected. Ayes: Unanimous. Motion carried. Check #4598 to Clerk Strandquist advised that he was of the opinion that Midway Typewriter: the adding machine in the Clerk's Office was under a guarantee; however, Midway Typewriter Exchange sent the Village a bill for its repair. Strandquist will check into the matter. Tree Inspection: C. Gustav Hard, Tree Consultant, advised the Council by informal not that due to the low evidence of tree disease, no spray program would be warranted at this time. Licenses: Webster Co., Inc. Ecklund moved, seconded by Black that the application for a for Sewer Installer Sewer Installer's License from Webster Co., Inc., 845 Edgerton, License: be approved. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Harris Plbg & Htg Black moved, seconded by Stone that the application for a for Master Gas Master Gas Installer's License from Harris Plumbing and Heating Installer License: Company, 2296 Territorial Road be approved. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Motion carried. Wick and Young for Ecklund moved, Strandquist seconded that the request from Christmas Trees: Wick and Young for a Christmas Tree License in the State Fairgrounds be approved. Ayes: All. Nays: None. Mot ion carriec Fire Department: Fire Reports #763 and 764 were read by Ecklund. Variance from Sussel The application was referred to the Planning Commission Co. for 1438 W. Iowa: at the meeting of December 12, 1968. The Planning Commission advised, in their report of December 21, 1968: "The Planning Commission recommends that variance be granted to reduce rearyard setback to 2 feet and sideyard to 2 feet as long as this garage will not extend closer to rear or side lines than existing." Black and Stone went to view the particular area with a representative from Sussel Company. Upon their return, Black moved, seconded by Stone that the following resolution '~ be adopted: WHEREAS, Sussel Company on behalf of Thomas Keene has made an application for a variance permit to construct a double garage on property located at 1438 W. Iowa which property is zoned R-l, with a sideyard setback of two feet and no rearyard setback, and
