1 <br />2837 <br />Black moved that the Council authorize the Clerk to write a letter <br />to the Village of Roseville advising them that we are not interested <br />in participating in a storm sewer project in the vicinity of <br />Roselawn, 'datum and Prior Avenues at this time due to the high <br />cost factor which has been submitted. If further cost estimates <br />can be provided we would be interested in this. Ecklund seconded. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />New Street Signs: Budget allowed for $860.00 for new street signs. Engineer <br />stated that it will take some time to make up a list, determine <br />colors, and have the signs made. <br />Mayor moved, seconded by Taylor that the Engineer be authorized <br />to proceed with the replacement of street signs. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />D <br />Union Settlement Attorney asked that the minutes reflect that he received a letter <br />of New Contract dated January 6, 1969 from Mr. Prifrel stating that the Union <br />and Labor Dispute: accepted the contract provisions that the Council had proposed for <br />the year 1969, after consultation with the employees. Mr. Prifrel <br />also enclosed a copy of a letter to the State Labor Conciliator <br />dated January 6, 1969 dropping all c~.~,ims of unfair labor practices <br />against the Village of Falcon Heights concerning the full-time <br />paid motor operators. <br />Fire Department Attorney presented rough draft of proposed legislation. A <br />Legislation: Special Meeting will be held at 8:00, January 16, 1969 to <br />discuss the topic further. <br />Falcon Oil Mr. Edelman will be here at 8:00 P.M. at the next regular <br />Car Wash: meeting of the Council to discuss the conditional-use permit <br />for a Car Wash at Hamline and Larpenteur Avenues. <br />Part-Time Attorney will write to Attorney General to request his opinion <br />Employment of on whether or not Bert Slama is entitled to $1~0 a month from <br />Bert Slama: F.D.R.A. and also if his being hired on apart=time basis by the <br />Village would affect his pension. <br />He advised the Council that the Village may not employee Bert <br />for at least 30 days after his retirement, effective January 1, 1969 <br />or he will lose his $75 a month from P.E.R.A. <br />L <br />Lindig Property: It was report that a group of residents living in the area of the <br />Julian Lindig Property hadgotten together and made a bid for the <br />property. <br />Bill for Fire Ecltlund moved, secrnded by Black that Donnor Communications be <br />Dept. Radio Fquip- paid upon receipt of a claim form and if this is not received <br />ment from Donnor: within the to discount time that the 10 day limit be waived. <br />Application for Ecklund moved, Black seconded that the application of Richard Allan <br />Volunteer Fireman: Dowdell for a volunteer fi~an be accepted, subject to a physical <br />examination and the probationary six months period. Motion carried. <br />Federal Monitors Ecklund moved, seconded by Stone that 12 additional cord sets for <br />and Cord Sets: the monitors be ordered. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Ecl~lund moved, seconded by Mayor that six Federal 9011 Monitors <br />at $160.00 each be purchased to provide for the expected increase <br />in manpower to the full strength of the department. Motion carried. <br />
