J. ~echtiene asked T.°darkentien for a cleric a1_ budget fer the <br />for the Hurnan nights Human Rights Commission as the last set of minutes .for their <br />Commission: conlimission cost reverend VanKirlc ~~9.19 because he had to have his <br />secretar~r do them. The Council. felt that it was unfair for members <br />of the commission to have to take money out of their pockets for the <br />distribution of the minutes. Black moved that a budget not to exceed <br />`.;115.00 per month be allotted for clerical help for the Human Rights <br />Commission. ti~darkentien seconded. The following voted _for same: <br />Black, tiarkentien. The Following voted against same: Taylor, <br />Stone and Ecklund. <br />Those voting against said motion .felt that in giving the Human <br />Rights Commission a budget the ViJ_lage would be expected to give <br />the recreation Corrunittee, Planning Commission, etc. a budget also. <br />As these organizations are supposed to be volunteer and have gotten <br />along in the past Urithout a budget, it wa.s felt that the policy <br />should. remain the same. <br />Ti7arkentien moved that the Human Rights Commission be authos~zed a <br />budget of X150.00 a year, not to exceed $12.50 per month for <br />clerical help including; stationery, envelopes, stamps, etc. and <br />that 1~everend Vanl~irk be reimbursed $9.19 for January's minutes. <br />^~yes: Black, tivarkentien, Ecklund. Nays: Taylor, Stone. <br />IAotion Tsras carried. <br />Variance for Sign The application for a variance from the Pizza Hut of Falcon Heights <br />for Pizza Hut : ti.7as referred to the Planning Corc-ai ssion at the Council's meeting <br />of February 13, 1969. The Planning Commission recommended approval <br />subject to the follotiaing conditions: <br />1. Total area of 125 square feet is acceptable. <br />2, Height of sign be limited to 25 feet, if practical <br />3. Setback of 18 to 20 feet from front lot line <br />~. Flashing sign be prohibited due to apartments next door. <br />Black moved that the variance submitted by the Pizza Hut fora sign <br />2~3 feet high tirith 125 square feet located at a distance of 22 feet <br />east from the east line of Snelling Drive be granted. Ecklund <br />seconded. Ayes: Unanimous. Motion carried. <br />Ordinance 61;: At the next meeting of the Planning Commission Black will. ask <br />it to make definite recommendations for the amendment of Ordinance <br />6!~ as suggested to the Council in the Planning Commission's letter <br />of January 29, 1969 , <br />Julia Lind_i Black suggested that the CouncS_1 look over the Julia Lindig <br />Pro?~erty: property on Saturda;r.
