2879 <br />Parking - 1457 Mr. LoulS Payin, 1463 W. California, and Mr. Harold Schroder, <br />and 1463 W. 1457 W. California, appeared to protest against the parking <br />California situation in the vicinity of their homes due to the nearby <br />apartments. Ecklund suggested that surveys be made and the <br />complaining residents were asked to appear at the next council <br />meeting. <br />At this point Mayor Warkentien and Engineer Lemberg arrived <br />and Mayor Warkentien presided over the rest of the meeting. <br />Falcon Heights Several members of the Falcon Heights Recreation Committee <br />Recreation appeared and presented the following recommendations: <br />Committee: ~~Rsquest that the Falcon Heights Recreation Committee be <br />authorized to enter into discussion with Roseville author- <br />ities to determine the feasibility of joint recreational <br />planning, including both facilities and planned recreational <br />programs, and that future long range recommendations of the <br />Committee include the alternative of jointly planned, con- <br />ducted and financed programs which would serve the recreation- <br />al needs of Falcon Heights residents. <br />Request the Village Council ask that Mr. De Schriver work with <br />the Committee to give recommendations for use of Fairground <br />land for Village recreation.~~ <br />They also asked that ice rink be flooded on Thursday or Fri- <br />day nights instead of early in the week, and that higher pay <br />be offered so that an older boy or grown man would accept the <br />job of overseeing the rink. After discussion, Black moved, <br />seconded by Warkentien, that the Committee be authorized to <br />enter into discussions with Roseville recreational author- <br />ities to determine possibility of joint recreational planning. <br />Motion carried. <br />Playground Sug- Warkentien moved, seconded by Black, that Mr. De Schriver be <br />gestions by Mr. instructed to develop within the present framework of the <br />De Schriver summer recreational program a plan for some summer recrea- <br />tion at the new University Grove Playgrounds, perhaps on a <br />share basis with the contemplated summer program at the West <br />Falcon Woods Playground in 1968. <br />Mr. Paul Fjare, Black introduced Mr. Paul Fjare, a representative of Brauer & <br />Brauer & Assoc.-- Associates, who offered the services of his organization to in- <br />Recreational vestigate the possibzli.ty of a recreation program for Falcon <br />Planning Heights, After discussion, it was decided to wait for the <br />report from the Recreation Committee before making any com- <br />mitment. <br />Letter of Taylor read the letter of resignation received from Maureen <br />Resignation: McMullen effective May 2nd with the understanding that she <br />would assist if necessary during the week of May 5th as out- <br />lined in her letter dated April 10, 1969. Black moved, sec- <br />onded by Ecklund, that her resignation be accepted. <br />Meeting Notice Taylor read a letter from the County Assessor's office an- <br />from County As- nouncing a meeting in the office of the Commissioner of <br />sessorts Office: Taxation Tuesday, April 22, at 10:00 A. M. <br />
