2885 <br />Street Sweeping of Mr. Hermes brought up that St. Mary's was not swept last year. <br />Falcon Heights: Lemberg stated that it was swept and that during the year the <br />gravel becomes loose. Council had previous authorized that <br />street sweeping be taken care of by Engineer. <br />Appointment of Black moved, Taylor seconded that Sharon Hofmann be appointed <br />Deputy Clerk: Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer at a salary of $lt10 with a <br />three month probation period at which time the Council will <br />make the final determination. Motion carried. <br />Repair work of Taylor read letter from Richard P. Walters, Manager of Auxiliary <br />Sidewalk - 166 Enterprises, Bethal College regarding necessary repair work on <br />Larpenteur: the sidewalk at 1t~66 Larpenteur. The matter was referred to <br />the Engineer. <br />Septic Tank on Warkentien moved, Ecklund seconded that the Village Engineer be <br />189l~ Arona: directed to look into the matter of E. J. Billings sewer on <br />189l~ Arona Avenue, and if necessary dig it up to determine loca- <br />tion of obstruction. <br />Sewer permit for It was moved by Taylor and seconded by Ecklund that a Sewer <br />Clement Schmitz: Permit be granted Clement Schmitz subject to his providing bond <br />and insurance forms to our Village Attorney. Motion carried. <br />Colors for Discussion was held on the c©lors for street signs. The decision <br />Street Signs: was held up until next meeting since Council would like to see <br />more colors. <br />Z^lard LaFrance Ecklund made motion and Warkentien seconded that we approve the <br />Truck No. l: purchase of the necessary material to install turn signals on the <br />Ward LaFrance Truck No. 1, not to exceed $30.00. Motion carried. <br />Tree Trimming of Discussion was held on whether or not trees were trimmed last <br />Falcon Heights: year. Lemberg was not sure. It was decided that this be put <br />on the list for next fall. <br />Open Housing: Black noted that the Human Rights Commission suggested that <br />High School students deliver house stickers regarding open <br />housing. Stickers would say "We Share the Dream -- Support <br />Open Housing". Stickers may be obtained from the Urban League <br />at $10.00 a thousand. <br />Use of Village Taylor made motion that we have locks put on South Council <br />Hall be Outsiders: Chamber Door of the Village Hall and that we authorize our <br />Village Engineer to contact a locksmith for this. Only ten keys <br />are to be made for distribution. Seconded by Mayor Warkentien. <br />Motion carried. <br />Resolution re- Warkentien moved adoption of the following resolution: <br />garding Hamline <br />Avenue Watermain RESOLUPION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING <br />Replacement Pro- ADVEI~ISEMENT FOR BIDS <br />,~' ~ j ect <br />WHEREAS, Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik, & Associates, Inc., <br />consulting engineers, have prepared final plans and specifications <br />for the construction of Hemline Avenue Watermain Improvement of <br />1969 and have presented such plans and specifications to the <br />Council for approval. <br />
