2899 <br />Private Attorney Seed proposed the adoption of the following resolution: <br />Property Resolution Regulating Parking on Certain Private Property <br />Earking Affected with the Public Interest. <br />Resolution: BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Falcon <br /> Heights, Minnesota, as follows: <br /> 1. The following described property is hereby found to be <br /> affected with the public interest: <br /> The shopping center complex located at the south-east corner <br /> of Larpenteur & Snelling Aves., which complex consists of a <br /> number of attached buildings (Gray's Drug Store, Falcon <br /> Heights State Bank, Applebaum's, and other stores and offices) <br /> and the paved land located adjacent to said buildings. <br /> 2. Parking on that portion of the above described property <br /> which is used for vehicular traffic shall be prohibited under <br /> the following terms and conditions: Parking at any time within <br /> 20 feet of the entire sough side of the attached buildings <br /> except for the south side of that portion of the attached <br /> shopping center buildings consisting of the western leg of the <br /> "L" shaped building (Applebaum's). <br /> 3. Official signs giving notice of the foregoing parking re- <br /> gulation shall be posted in the following manner: Such signs <br /> shall be located flush along the southern wall of said attached <br /> shopping center buildings at an approximate height of 7'0" and <br /> shall be spaced approximately 25' apart. The signs shall state <br /> substantially "NO PARKING WITHIN 20 FEET OF THIS BUILDING. <br /> VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED." The dimensions of each sign <br /> shall be i0* in height and 18" in width. <br /> ~.. It is hereby found, determined and declared that the fore- <br /> going regulation is necessary and desirable in order to estab- <br /> lish afire lane and to protect private property and promote <br /> the health, safety, order, convenience and general welfare. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Ecklund, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, <br /> that the approval of this resolution be granted. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Weeds on It was questioned whether or not Mr. Thatcher has cut weeds on his <br />Thatcher property as requested. Attorney Seed will contact Mr. Quarn. If <br />Property: Mr. Quarn has word that area will be sprayed, no action will be <br /> taken. If not, Attorney Seed will draft a letter to be signed by <br /> Village Clerk informing owner that Blight Ordinance has been violated. <br />Fire Department Councilman Ecklund moved that the requisition for Fire Department <br />Supplies: supplies dated July 8, 1969 be approved. Councilman Stone seconded. <br />Motion passed. <br />Village Hall Clerk Taylor noted that doors of Village Hall have been left un- <br />Doors Unlocked: locked. It was decided to notify Ken Quarn that doors must be <br />locked at all times when premises are unattended. <br />Application An application for building permit has bean submitted by Lewis <br />for Building Jensen Agency in behalf of Mary Gillette, Chippewa Falls, on Lot 2, <br />Permit: Block 2, Lindig Addition for a 62' x 2~.' house costing $18,500 <br />excluding cost of lot. On recommendation of Engineer Lemberg, <br />Councilman Black moved permission be granted. Motion was seconded <br />by Councilman Ecklund and passed. <br />
