296t-. <br />MEETING OF FEBRUARY 26, 1970 <br />The regular meeting of February 26, 1970 was called to order at 7:10 P.M. with the <br />following members present: Mayor Warkentien, Clerk Taylor' Councilmen Black, Ecklund <br />and Stone. Also present were Treasurer Olsen, Engineer Lemberg and Attorney Seed. <br />Minutes : Stone moved that the minutes of the meeting of February 17., <br />1970 be approved as written except to delete from the paid <br />list Check #5192, M3-nnesota Fire Tnc., $5.55. Warkentien <br />seconded and motion carried. <br />Contract for Taylor read the contract from the Roseville School District <br />Tennis Courts: #623 for the tennis courts to be constructed on the Falcon <br />Heights Elementary School property as soon as their school <br />addition is finished. <br />Master Gas Installers Taylor moved that the application for master gas installers <br />License, Approved: license, for the Standard Heating and Air-Conditioning Co., <br />x.10 West Lake Street, Minneapolis, Minnesota be approved <br />for the period February 1, 1970 through June 30, 1970. <br />Warkentien seconded and motion carried. <br />Application for Ecklund moved that the application be approved for Richard <br />Volunteer Fireman: Duane Lendley, 1717 Fry Street, as volunteer fireman for <br />the Village of Falcon Heights, subject to passing a physical <br />examination and six months probationary period. Warkentien <br />seconded and motion carried. <br />Settlement of Stone moved, seconded by Black that the following resolution <br />Assessment Claim be adopted. Upon a vote, the resolution was declared unan- <br />of Donald L. Alexander, imously passed. <br />Resolution 70-8: <br />WHEREAS: <br />A. An assessment for Sidewalk Improvement of 1968-1 <br />was duly adopted on October 8, 1969; <br />B. Donald L. Alexander, 1375 West Iowa Avenue (assessment <br />roll 33-5500-160-05) contested said assessment against his <br />property on the grounds that the property was in part as- <br />sessed for work not performed; <br />C. Said Alexander withheld payment of his assessment <br />until said dispute had been settled by reducing his assess- <br />ment from $84.82 to $65.05, which sum has been rendered to <br />and accepted by the Village; <br />D. Said Alexander is now being charged on the tax rolls <br />for the full interest on said reduced assessment and the <br />first years principal installment, in the total amount of <br />$19.x.0, on the grounds that the reduced assessment was not <br />paid within the statutory time limit; <br />
