2966 <br />E. It is in the interest of the Village of Falcon Heights <br />and its residents that such a study be undertaken; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the <br />Village of Falcon Heights that such a study by the Public <br />Administration Services of Chicage be undertaken and that <br />Falcon Heights share in the cost of said study in anamount <br />estimated to be $1,113.50 based on a per capita allocation <br />of cost among the participating communities. <br />Letter to B & E Attorney Seed was instructed to write a letter to the B & E <br />Patrol: Patrol to app ear at the Council meeting of March 26, 1970, <br />to discuss ani~al control for the Village of Falcon Heights. <br />Metro Transit Councilman Black attended the Metro Transit breakfast meeting <br />Meeting : held at the Paul Bux~yan Motel on February 26, 1970. He gave <br />the following report <br />The people present were representatives of several co7mY-unity <br />organizations including Roseville Chamber of Commerce, Rose- <br />ville School District #623, and League of Women Voters, who <br />heard discussions conducted by a representative of the con- <br />sulting firm and John Jamieson, director of the Metro Transit <br />Commission. The discussion took two parts. <br />(1) The long range prospects for a transit system in the <br />Metro area, and <br />(2) A shorter prosp ect for improved bus service. <br />Tn the long range, it appears that the trend is towards a <br />combination rail and bus system. The consulting firm has <br />indicated numerous proposed roads passed upon and studies of <br />traffic patterns and population density as well as possible <br />future locations of major shopping centers. <br />A number of those present expressed concern about the short <br />term prospects of improved transit service to the north <br />suburban areas, also, many were concerned about a proposed <br />future rail route from northern Ramsey County to the Minne- <br />apolis loop. The representative of the consulting firm ad- <br />vised that a1.1 routes are tentative at this time. Those <br />attending the meyeting were advised that future planning in- <br />cluding recommendation and changes would be passed along to <br />interested citizens at future meetings. <br />Pollution Control Engineer Lemberg attended a pollution control meeting on <br />Meeting: February 25, 1970. He suggested letters be written to the <br />major refuse haulers to attend the next Council meeting of <br />March 12, 1970, to discuss complete trash hauling in the <br />Vi.l.lag e. <br />Water Rates Engineer Lemberg attended a water rates study meeting. (He <br />Study Meeting: will send a report of the meeting in to the Village Office.) <br />
