186 <br />REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 23, 1963 <br />The regular. meeting xas called to order at 7:00 P.M. xith the follcnring <br />members being•presenta Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor, Trustee; <br />Willis Warkentien, Trustee; Charles Stone, Trustee; and ~. A. Mortenson, <br />Clerk. Also present xere William E. Olsen, Treasurer; Brad Lemberg, <br />Village Engineer; and Michael Galvin, Village Attorney. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting of January 9, 1963 xere approved - <br />moved by Stone and seconded by Shavor, Passed. <br />Annual Report: For assistance in setting up a bookkeeping system <br />and classification of accounts as recommended by <br />the State Department of Public Examiner it xas <br />agreed to hire Elxyn H. Sands, C. P. A. on the <br />recommendation of William Olsen. He rill be <br />available the first xeek in February. <br />Village Maintenance Applications for the possible position of Village <br />Mans maintenance man are being received and about 20 <br />men have applied so far xith the applications to <br />be reviexed at a special Village Council Meeting <br />set for February 6, 1963 at 8:00 P.M. <br />Municipal State The allocation for 1963 from .the State of Minn- <br />Aid 1963: ~ esota Department of Highxays for Municipal State <br />Aid Street Fund xas received xith a total allot- <br />ment of 41.9,896.00, ~3,0l~5.00 being for Maintenance, <br />and ~t16,851.04 for Construction. <br />Fair Housing Laxs Mrs. L. B. Miller and Mrs. Rodney Olson from the <br />Local League of Women Voters presented to the <br />Council a letter stating the Leagues position <br />on the Fair Housing Lax. They have been studying <br />the problem of discrimination for txo years and <br />hav® made a stand to support the Lax xhich became <br />effective as of December 31, 1962. Brochures <br />explaining the lax xere left for interested <br />citizens. <br />Civil Defense Civil Defense supplies set aside for the Village <br />Supplies: of Falcon Heights have been received at the Civil <br />Defense Center, Nex Brighton. They are to stock <br />Buildings 511 and 331 at the State Fair Grounds <br />and include sanitary kits, medical kits, radiation <br />kits, bag liners, biscuits, etc. <br />It xas moved by Shavor and seconded by Stone that <br />Leo Weet, Village Civil Defense Director, be <br />authorized to arrange for its removal to the Fair <br />Grounds Buildings. <br />
