1932 <br />SPECIAL MEETIF+TG OF JUNE 19, 1963 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P. M. with the following members being <br />present: Harold Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor, Trustee; W. A. Mortenson, <br />Clerk; Willis Warkentien, Trastee; Charles P, Stone, Trustee. Also present <br />were Brad Lemberg Engineer, Attorney M. J. Galvin, William E. Olsen, <br />Treasurer, and Tina Vavoulis, Deputy Clerk. <br />Warkentien moved, seconded by Shavor to accept the minutes of the regular <br />meeting of June 12, 1963. All ayes. <br />May+~r Nilsenss vacations Mayor Nilsen will be on vacation from June 29 until <br />August 10 and during his absence, George Shavor will <br />be acting Ma3ror. <br />Bearer problem at 1583 F~igineer Lemberg advised that there was a five foot <br />Hollyarood Courts 2 x 2 found in the clay pipe in the street that was <br />causing the trouble. Ads. Jacobi submitted bills she <br />had paid out the past 15 months and wants to knoar who <br />wi11 pay for them. No action was taken. <br />Hearing on Proposed At Ss00 P. M, the special meeting was recessed and <br />Assessment of Water Main Mayor Nilsen opened the Hearing on Proposed Assessment <br />Improvement of 1963: for Water Main Improvement of 1963. Approximately 90 <br />persons were present. Clerk Mortenson read the Notice <br />of Hearing,. and atmounced it was published in the <br />Suburban Life Nearspaper on June 5th and June 12th anti <br />that mailed notice had been given as required by lair. <br />Opening statement as to the need for the water main <br />extension was made by Mayor Nilsen. Engineer Lemberg <br />explained the details as to method and cost. <br />l~ihen the original notice went wut, Roselawn Avenuue from <br />Fairview to Tatum was left out and not printed in the <br />legal newspapers, therefore, the Roselaavn Avenue conn- <br />ection is to be discussed, although publication is not <br />complete, and final action may be taken next week. <br />Mayor Nilsen advised that informs]. petitions had <br />produced more than 35~ in favor of the improvement. Of <br />17 residents on Fry Street, 7 were in favor; of 22 <br />residents on Fairview, 10 were in favor; of 52 residents <br />on Tatum, 37 were in favor; and of t~.in Falcon Woods, <br />15 were in favor. <br />Mayor Nilsen read from attorney's letter written in <br />1959 stating that the 9illage has no power to compel <br />hoaeowners to connect to water 3n the absence of a <br />situation where the health of the people is endangered. <br />Peter Met3ough After water is in, are we going to put in storm sewers? <br />1977 Summer Streets I would 3ust as .soon sea it go in noar. <br />Ea1gin®ar Lemberg: At the present time there are no plans for installing <br />storm searers.
