1933
throughout the Village. There is no place to run storm searers. We would have to
go into a combined program with Roseville, the Slats Fair Grounds, and the University
of Minnesota. To bring these four organizations together takes a lot of work and
study and the others are not available to listen to this.
Jan L. Jansen
1610 Maple Knolls I understand the Maple Knoll has a water main in. Is it the
intention to assess us again at the same rate?
Attorney Galvin: The notices were sent out to P~aple Kno17. because it appears
from preliminary engineering studies that there will be a
benefit to that area in that increased water pressure will
result. No assessment on a front foot basis there, but that
i.s nor hooked up to the East side of the Village, which will
be closed off and you will be hooked up to the West side of
the Village with better service and higher pressure resulting.
An assessment charge against the homes on a basis substantially
less than the homes involved i.n the other proceedings, Not a
frontage basis but a hook up charge. In this particular
instance, the matter had been discussed at a previous meeting
and I think the Council. stated a hook up charge to those homes
for the increase in pressure.
Jansen: What would the benefit be to that particular area?
Lemberg: You have 1~ meters noon. You could sooitch over to 3/}an meters
and the cost to you for the hook up charge would be taken
-
care of by fine opportunity of reducing your
sewer rental
cost.
Jansen: Has there been any indication as to what this might cost?
N31sen: Based upon-,the future development West of Snelling, and eorr-
sidering the vacant property, a survey was made considering
the estimated number of residences. A connection charge was
established. The rate for 3/~." meter - X60.00
L. E. Vanek To the engineer regarding pipe and servicing. There is a
1665 Gard®n Ave.: 6~ main that comes by my house.
Lemberg: 3/4to meters would reduce your sewer rental rate.
Paul Miller M.Y' understand3.ng is that the enti>~e charge for that area i.s
lb5t~ Maple Knoll: X860.00.
Nilsen: For those homes presently connected -yes.
Miller: There is a ds~ water main - I have a 1" meter, would X860.00 be
divided among all the property sooners?
Nilsens To those presently connected. To those not connected, putting
a nene~ serv3.ee on a home, the charge would be $60.00.
E. Hales T~Te built a house three years ago and put in a water system,
1771 Frye and therefore, I am against this, Hewever, i.f the water i.s
put in on one side of the street, would a feeder line be brought
across the strut to each lot as part of this assessment, or
would each individual. on the opposite side of the street have
to make a connection? '
