1936
Mrs. Lester Gill What is this going to do to our taxes?
1765 St. Maryts:
Nilsen: There is an increase tp the land assessments. TNhen we talk
abort takes, are you separating taxes from the assessment?
Mrs. Gills Yes; we are paying ~].OO a month taxes raw.
Helmut Volk Stale water if there is a dead end to the main. It looks to uae
1$62 No. Howell: that I am located at the end of a line here.
Lembergs There will be a complete loop here (pointing on map). There is
land here which probably will be developed, and the lines will
be dropped dash and opened up.
F. Lloyd Hanson I got a petition one night and the next day I got the notice.
1938 Autumn: As far as I kncm there is at least one petition and maybe taro.
If everyone didn~t see it, it is most likely the neighbor did
not pass it on. I understand this is an assessment on frontage
only. I have a corner lot.
Lemberg: Yes, that is correct.
Mr. Leo S. Ohman The assessment for our area waald include putting in the 3/l~.a
1635 Garden: meter. we have been paying terrific premium for lour pressure.
have paid for a six inch main from Fry to St. ~aryts - t~iat
would be included in the loop?
Lembergs No. The meter is not included in the cost.
Nilsens If the meter is inside, the charge is X3.00 per connection, if on
the outside X5.00.
J. M. Me(~regor On our street there are 20 people who are not served by water.
1795 No. Fairview: You m®ntion 22 people on t~iie petition. Are the apartments already
served there anci were they allo:red to sign? They already have
their systems in.
Lemberg: They will be benefited by increased pressure.
Nilsen: The apartments are not on the peitt3.on. Mr. Sommers, Bob Dowdell -
they are the ones who have water. We have ten signatures here.
(Names on petition were read.)
McGregor: Hoer much of this is in the interest of the people interested in
building in the Lindig addition and thespartments being put up?
I dontt see why we should have to pay.
Nilsens Last summer a petition went up Tatum Street and at that time
there were a lot of signatures. This summer the people stopped
me on the street and asked me about water, I have had calls from
a gentleman on St. Marys Avenue. The people on Tatum - 70~ have
signed. Zhe problems arose in other areas and a gentleman on
Fairvieervrr took petitions. So, it would seem to me that theapart-
a:ents had nothing to do with it.
McGregor: There are pe#,i.tions for this, but none against it, so the ones for
it are organized and the ones against it are unorganized.
