2x35 <br />REGULAR MEETING OF NOVENIDER 27, 1963 <br />The regular meeting of the Village Council was called to order at 7:00 P,M. <br />with the following members present: Mayor Harold Nilsen, Clerk W, A. <br />Mortensen, Trustees George Shaver and Charles Stone. Also present were <br />Treasurer William E, Olsen, Attorney Michael Galvin, ~igineer Brad Lemberg, <br />and Deputy Clerk Tina Vavoulis, Absent: Trustee Willis Warkentien. <br />Mrs, Maureen Thomas was present for the League of Women Voters, <br />Workmen's Compensation In response to requests for bids sent to six <br />Insurance Bidss agencies, one bid was received from the follow~.ng <br />agent: <br />Harold Ifrinke of the Bosshardt~Telson Agency <br />for Iowa National Mutual Insurance Co. ~1,099.1~0 <br />It was moved by Mortensen, seconded by Stone to <br />accept the bid for Workmen's Compensation Insurance <br />from the above. Motion carried. <br />Falcon Heights Cities Council was advised that this filling station had <br />Service Station at one time nine cars for sale on their premises, <br />whereas the conditional use permit was issued stating <br />Used Cars for sale: that a maximum of four cars would be permitted, The <br />deputy clerk was instructed to write Robert Leonard, <br />owner, requesting him to appear before the council <br />at the next regular meeting, December 11, 1963. <br />Governmental Mortensen advised that the law which will go into <br />I~nunity: effect on January 1, 1964 regarding governmental <br />immunity will probably not affect the insurance <br />carried by the Village. The Village is adequately <br />covered. <br />Sick Leave - B. J. It was reported that B. J. Slama will be hospitalized <br />Slama -Fireman: for possibly another three weeks, and the Council <br />agreed that he should continue to receive his regular <br />check inasmuch as he is on sick leave. Slama will turn <br />over his workmen's compensation checks to the Village. <br />Police car radio: Inasmuch as police car radio was bought with matching <br />funds from the Civil Defense Department, it may not be <br />sold or traded in without authorization from the <br />Department. Trustee Warken tien will obtain information <br />and advise the Council. <br />Trees: There are five stumps from trees that need removal. <br />Deputy Cle rk was instructed to contact the owners of <br />the homes and advise them that shortly after the first <br />of the year, those stumps will be removed. <br />Water and Severer The City of St. Paul advised that Nodland owes them <br />Project - Nodland ~3la1..78 to cover cost of repairing street light <br />Construction Company circuit damaged as result of undermining street <br />Payment of Estimate li.~hting cable, Engineer Lemberg advised the Council <br />#2 that Nodland had permission from a St. Paul Inspector <br />to take a street light out, and after doing so, another <br />inspector came out and blamed Nodland for breaking it <br />1 <br />1 <br /> <br />
