2036 <br />and this inspector put the street light back up; far <br />this work, the City of St, Paul has billed Nodland. <br />Lemberg advised this is merely a mix up between two <br />different inspectors. Inasmuch as the entire amount due <br />Nodland Construction is not included in payment of <br />Estimate ~#2, Lemberg recommended payment, <br />Windows for Dormitory Lemberg advised that Dennesen Company proposed aluminum <br />- Fire Department: windows that fasten on the outside of the window opening <br />at a cost of X1.03,1.1. These windows could not be opened <br />from the inside if installed in the manner proposed. <br />Minnesota Rusco Company proposed wooden frame between <br />windows. These would be removable from the inside but <br />could not be opened from the inside for any kind of <br />ventilation at a cost of X90.00. These would be steel <br />rather than aluminum. <br />Don Schoen of the Fire Department proposed building entire <br />frame from boards in storage and they would be hinged at <br />the top to allow opening from the inside at a cost of <br />$x.5.00. These could be removed for storage during the <br />summer months. <br /> Upon recommendation of the Village Engineer, Nil sen moved, <br /> Shavor seconded that Don Schoen be awarded the contract to <br /> construct two windows for the dormitory at a total cost of <br /> ~1t5.00. Carried, <br />Surer Trouble - <br />l <br />8 Walter Hermes of Rosetown Sanitation had been instructed <br />13 <br />~ <br />California Ave, by the Village Engineer to proceed with work necessary to <br /> clear the sewer from the main line :~o the boulevard, and <br /> in doing so, discovered the trouble was due to huge roots <br /> which were removed and brought to the Council as evidence. <br /> Engineer stated this could happen because a point was not <br /> properly sealed at the time of installation, Nilsen moved, <br /> Shavor seconded that this matter be referred to the Village <br /> Attorney for action and referral of expenses incurred at <br /> this time to the installer of the sewer line, Peter Lametti. <br /> Motion carried, <br />Painting & Cleaning Engineer will obtain specifications as to kinds of paint <br />Village Ha11.: best suitable for walls, stairways, etc. in the building, <br />Trailer at 1906 North The residents of the home at this location were forced out <br />Albert: due to a fire that gutted the interior. The family is <br /> living in a trailer parked in the front lawn while repair <br /> work is being done. Deputy Clerk was instructed to find <br /> out haw much longer the trailer will remain parked there. <br />Water Connection 1963 - <br />North Snelling Ave.: Engineer Lemberg advised that permit has been acquired from <br /> the Highway Department and contract will soon be let out to <br />begin work on laying the water lines to serve this area. <br />St. Paul Inspections Engineer advised that the St. Paul inspectors are stamping <br />of Water Lines: 'Not Guaranteed by Board of Water Commissioners inasmuch <br /> as they do not guarantee (for 30 years). any lines that are <br /> not wholly instal.led by the St, Paul Water Department. <br />
