2041. <br />Vacation Pay: Question has been raised as to whether an <br />employee can receive his vacation pay when <br />he does not take time off for a vacation, <br />i.e., receive double pay if he works instead <br />of taking time off for vacation. After dis- <br />cussion Warkentien moved, Stone seconded that <br />employees must take vacation and that no extra <br />.pay can be given if vacation not taken. <br />Opening of Bids: Clerk Mortenson read advertisement for bids <br />as published in the Suburban Life Newspaper. <br />Squad Car: One biGi was received and opened. Warkentien <br />moved, seconded by Stone that after reviewing <br />the one bid submitted by Midway Ford Company <br />the following resolution be accepted; <br />i~'FiEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for <br />bids for the purchase of a 19b4 police car in <br />accordance with the resolution adopted November <br />13, 1963, and pursuant to statutory notice being <br />published on November 20, 1963, bids were re- <br />ceived, opened and tabulated. according to law, <br />and the following bid was received complying <br />with the advertisement: <br />Midway Ford Companiy - 1850 University Ave., St. Paul <br />1 - 1964 Ford Custom Tlzdor - complete to attached <br />specifications: <br />~ 2,441.00 <br />Less: Trade-in allowance on present <br />car 800.00 <br />Net cash difference (tax exempt) ~ 1,641.00 <br />Delivery: 30 - 45 days from receipt of <br />purchase order <br />WHEItEA5, it appears that Midway Ford Company <br />is the lowest responsible bidder, <br />NOY~I, THEREFORE, the Mayor and Clerk are - <br />hereby authorized and directed to enter into <br />a purchase agreement with Midway Ford Company <br />in the name of the Village for the purpose of <br />purchasing said police car according to speci- <br />fications approved by said Village Council. <br />Upon a vote being taken, the motion was <br />carried. <br />Police car Radio: Inasmuch as a trade-in allowance of X200 will be <br />allowed for the police department radio, which <br />was bought with Civil Defense matching funds, <br />the Federal Civil Defense Department is to be <br />paid X100 as its share of the trade-in value in <br />return for release from them in allowing such <br />trade-i.n.
