2066 <br />REGULAR MEETING OF FEBRUARY 26, 1961 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M, with the following members <br />present: Mayor Harold Nilsen; Clerk W, A, Mortensen; Trustees Willis <br />Warkentien, Charles Stone, and William Black, Also present were Treasurer <br />Wm, E, Olsen, Attorney Pike Galvin, and Brad Lemberg, Engineer, and Deputy <br />Clerk Tina Vavoulis. <br />Mrs. Rodney N, Olson eras present for the League of Women Voters, <br />Stone moved, seconded by Black that the minutes of the meeting of February <br />12 be approved, Carried. <br />Corresporxlence <br />Road & Bridge Fund County Auditors letter of February 2!~ advised that <br />19631 an apportionment of X7.,876.31 has been made to the <br />Village for construction and maintenance of Streets, <br />roads, and bridges. <br /> Ramsey Co. League of Clerk Mortensen made report of the meeting he <br /> Municipa7.itiess attended last week. He made review of a survey <br /> of licenses and permits of all villages, such <br /> survey was conducted by this League last fall. <br /> Sewage Works Operators The University of Minnesota General Extension <br /> Schools Division is holding school in April at Mayo Memorial <br /> Auditorium and the League of Minn, Municipalities and <br />the Department of Health are assisting. <br /> Notice of Appointment Carl Bucher, Ramsey County Weed Inspector requested that <br /> of Yfieed Inspector to weed inspector appointment blanks be completed and <br /> Ramsey County: returned. <br /> B. J. Slams Appreciation to the Council was expressed in Bertrand <br /> Fireman: J, Slama~s letter for the courtesies extended him <br /> during his four month illn®ss. <br /> Chamber of Commerce Inasmuch as road restrictions will soon be placed on <br /> of St. Paul - roads, permission was requested for trucks or vans to <br /> Load Levels: travel over certain areas specified by our V3.llage <br /> Engineer. Matter was referred to Engineer Lemberg. <br /> Civil Defense: Mr. Fanning and Mr, Anglin of the State and County <br /> Civil Defense Departments were present. Inasmuch as <br /> they stated that the City of St. Paul has agreed to <br /> assist in furnishing trucks, personnel, and to conduct <br /> the whole operation, and the only expense involved to <br /> the Village of Falcon Heights would be in hiring truck <br /> drivers, Nilsen moved that the Falcon Heights Civil <br /> Defense Director be authorized to sign the license <br /> Privilege forms that have bean signed by the University <br /> of Minnesota, and that the expenditure of not to exceed <br /> X125.00 for hiring of truck drivers, who will be engaged <br /> in moving items from the stock at the New Brighton Depot <br /> to the University. This is with the understanding <br /> that Civil Defense Director of the University, Colonel <br /> Robert Elliott will implement the work done by the <br />
