2112 <br /> REGULAR MEETING OF MAY 27, 196I~ <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. with the following members present: <br />Mayor Harold C. Nilsen; Village Clerk W. A, Mortenson; Trustees Willis Warkentien, <br />Charles P, Stone, end William Black. Also present ware Treasurer William Olsen, <br />Engineer Brad Lemberg, Attorney Michael Galvin, and Deputy Clerk Tana Vavoulis. <br />Black moved, seconded by Mortenson that the minutes of the meeting of May 13, 19bl~ <br />be approved. Carried. <br />Correspondence: <br />West Falcon Heights The West Falcon Heights Playground Association by letter <br />Playground Assn. invited the members of the Council to a covununity picnic <br /> which 3s to be held on June 8th. <br />Recreational Areas Letter of May 21 regarding proposed recreational areas on <br />on University Property- University property was read. It advised that University <br />Dean Sherwood 0, Berg: is in process of determining future land use needs, and <br /> they will keep in contact with this Village, <br />Robert C, Mitchell Letter of May 25th urged Council to consider condemnation <br />1597 Garden Avenue - of three homes as a fair and equitable condition in the <br />Highway Acquisition: approval of the Highway Department proposal with regard to <br /> the future of Snelling Avenue improvements. One property <br /> owner is unable to sell his property because of its <br /> uncertain future. None of the homeowners' property wi7.1 <br /> be taken in the widening of Snelling Avenue,Ynwever, the <br /> property value will greatly de~mieease. He urges final <br /> determination on this project. <br />Andrew Hustr~il.id - Otto G, Bonestroo by letter advised Mr. Hustrulid <br />Fairview Avenue that a tree located on Fairview Avenue, if placed at ten <br />Tree Planting: feet east of the property line would be ten feat from the <br /> sanitary sewer and 20 feet from the water main. This <br /> is recommended by Bonestroo. <br />Sanitary Sewer and Engineer Lemberg addressed letter to the Village of Falcon <br />Water Main Ext. of Heights enclosing copies of invoices and a letter from <br />1963 -Bills to be Nodland Construction Company billing this Village for extra <br />forwarded to City work on placing the hydrant on Cleveland Avenue between <br />of Saint Paul: Larpenteur and Dudley Street. Letter stated that Nodland <br />placed hydrant where the St. Paul inspector wanted it, and <br />then had to replace it again to be in the correct ~.ocation. <br />Council instructed the clerk to prepare a bill to the city <br />of St. Paul for services as outlined, and the engineer will <br />personally take it to the Water Department of St. Paul. <br />Sanitary Sewer - Letter of May 25 from Village of Roseville was read. The <br />Rate Studys Engineering firm of Greeley and Hansen of Chicago indicated <br />that firm ~rould undertake the survey for Roseville, ~daple- <br />wood, White Bear Lake, and North St, Paul for a total of <br />5,0.00. When request was made to them to include <br />Falcon H®ights, it eras indicated that the ma~cLnmim for the <br />study must be raised to X16,000.00. The cost to Falcon <br />Heights, therefore, is the cost difference of x].,000.00. <br />The following resolution was introduced. by Stone, who <br />moved its adoption: <br />WHEREAS the Villages of Rosevill®, Maplewood, <br />
