Stone introduced the following resolution and moved its <br />Restaurant adoption: <br />Variance applications <br />WHEREAS, Embers Systems, Inc. has filed a request <br />for variance pursuant to provisions of Ordinance 64 of <br />the Village of Falcon Heights on March 19, 1965, and <br />WHEREAS, said variance permit was considered by the <br />Planning Commission of the Village of Falcon Heights on <br />March 22, 1965, and <br />WHEREAS, said Planning Commission made certain <br />recommendations and suggestions to the Village Council <br />and submitted said recommendations on March 21~, 1965 to <br />the Council, and <br />WHEREAS, at the Village Council meeting of March <br />2l~, 1965, representatives of Embers Systems, Inc. <br />explained in detail their plans and specifications <br />relating to said variance application, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council considered the recorrm~endations <br />and sub=gestions of the Planning Commission, and conferred <br />further with representatives of the Planning Commission <br />and the Village Engineer, and <br />WHEREAS, said variance request relates to setbacks, <br />heights and a business sign, which sign is larger than <br />that permitted under the provisions of Ordinance 64, all <br />as is more fully set forth in the variance application <br />filed by applicant, and <br />WHEREAS, the engineer and the council have carefully <br />examined the present and proposed plans for Snelling <br />Avenue and Larpenteur Avenue, and it appears that special <br />and peculiar problems exist relative to proposed location <br />of the restaurant to be constructed by Embers Systems, Inc., <br />said peculiar problems and circumstances validating the <br />request for a variance in sign sise, and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council has considered the <br />recommendations and suggestions of the Planning Commission, <br />the effect of the proposed variance upon the health and <br />safety of the community existing and anticipated, traffic <br />conditions, light and air, danger of fire, risks to the <br />public safety, and effect of values in the surrounding <br />area, and the effect of the proposed variance upon the <br />
