2232 WHEREAS, it has been necessary and will be necessary to protect the general welfare of the Village and abate the dangerous flooding conditions which constitute severe nuisances under the ordinances of the Village and the statutes of the State of Minnesota, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of Falcon Heights: 1. All steps taken by representatives of the Village to date, to preserve the health, safety, property and general welfare of the Village are hereby ratified and approved in each and every thing. 2. An emergency situation is hereby declared and all necessary steps to continue to preserve the general welfare of the Village of Falcon Heights are hereby approved, 3. The costs of such action shall be charged to the existing general funds of the Village and such funds as are necessary to meet such emergency shall be and are hereby transferred to the general fund from the Sewer Maintenance Reserve Fund. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Black and upon a vote being taken, the following voted in favors Nilsen, Strandquist, Stone and,Black and the following voted against sames None. Said resolution was declared adopted this 1J~th day of April 1965. Attorney's Reports Report on the bills now before the Legislature affecting the Village of Falcon Heights was made. Gottfried's Pits Attorney stated that water would continue to drain into Gottfried~s Pit if storm sewers were installed inasmuch as it is a natural drainage. Fire Department Stone moved that request of the Fire Department for Fire School= authorization to register four men at $15.00 per member at the Minnesota State Fire School April 26 to April 29 1965 be granted. Motion seconded by Black and carried. Subscriptions to Stone moved authorization of payment for subscriptions Minnesota Smoke- to the Minnesota Smoke-Eater publication for the 27 Eaters named persons as listed and on file in the Clerks office. Motion seconded by Nilsen and carried, Red Revolving Strandquist moved, seconded by Stone that red revolving Lights for Fire lights for the two fire trucks, at a cost of X87.00 Trucks each be purchased, Description supplied by Harold Garber of Dunn Body is as follows: ~. bulb red - 360° revolving - 10'~ diameter - 102 inches high - supplied and mounted on truck. Motion carried.
