2232 <br />WHEREAS, it has been necessary and will be <br />necessary to protect the general welfare of the <br />Village and abate the dangerous flooding conditions <br />which constitute severe nuisances under the ordinances <br />of the Village and the statutes of the State of <br />Minnesota, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council <br />of the Village of Falcon Heights: <br />1. All steps taken by representatives of the <br />Village to date, to preserve the health, safety, <br />property and general welfare of the Village are <br />hereby ratified and approved in each and every thing. <br />2. An emergency situation is hereby declared <br />and all necessary steps to continue to preserve the <br />general welfare of the Village of Falcon Heights are <br />hereby approved, <br />3. The costs of such action shall be charged to <br />the existing general funds of the Village and such <br />funds as are necessary to meet such emergency shall <br />be and are hereby transferred to the general fund <br />from the Sewer Maintenance Reserve Fund. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution <br />was duly seconded by Black and upon a vote being taken, <br />the following voted in favors Nilsen, Strandquist, <br />Stone and,Black and the following voted against sames <br />None. Said resolution was declared adopted this 1J~th <br />day of April 1965. <br />Attorney's Reports Report on the bills now before the Legislature affecting <br />the Village of Falcon Heights was made. <br />Gottfried's Pits Attorney stated that water would continue to drain <br />into Gottfried~s Pit if storm sewers were installed <br />inasmuch as it is a natural drainage. <br />Fire Department Stone moved that request of the Fire Department for <br />Fire School= authorization to register four men at $15.00 per member <br />at the Minnesota State Fire School April 26 to April 29 <br />1965 be granted. Motion seconded by Black and carried. <br />Subscriptions to Stone moved authorization of payment for subscriptions <br />Minnesota Smoke- to the Minnesota Smoke-Eater publication for the 27 <br />Eaters named persons as listed and on file in the Clerks <br />office. Motion seconded by Nilsen and carried, <br />Red Revolving Strandquist moved, seconded by Stone that red revolving <br />Lights for Fire lights for the two fire trucks, at a cost of X87.00 <br />Trucks each be purchased, Description supplied by Harold <br />Garber of Dunn Body is as follows: ~. bulb red - 360° <br />revolving - 10'~ diameter - 102 inches high - supplied <br />and mounted on truck. Motion carried. <br />
