X363 <br />University - At the foregoing meeting, it was stated that the <br />Watermain Improvement assessment made by the Village of Falcon Heights <br />of 1963- Assessments for the WaterMain Improvement mf 1963 is treated <br />as a separate item and further that the Legislator®, <br />since 1963, has not appropriated any money for muni- <br />cipal improvem®nts. University gill adv3.se this <br />Village by letter (in response to our letter to the <br />Board of Regents) that they are not in a position at <br />the present time to pay assessment, but same will b® <br />resubmitted to the 1967 session of the Legislature. <br />Donald Arndt, Police Police Commissioner Donald Arndt, presented his regular <br />Commissioner: report tc: the counci.].. Howard Raymond Jensen, who <br />applied for position as a police officer, was introduced <br />Howard Raymond to the council. After discussion, Warkentien moved that <br />Jensen engaged said applicant be engaged as police officer for the <br />as Police Officers Village of Falcon Heights subject to his passing the <br />physical examination, and subject to the six months <br />probation period and shall commence work as soon as <br />possible after May 1st. Further moved that he shall <br />be paid a salary of X475.00 during the six months pro- <br />bation period With an increase in salary if, after <br />review, same is merited. Motion was duly seconded by <br />Ston®. Ayess All. Nays: None. Motion was carried. <br />Purchase of Lawn Stone moved, seconded by Strandquist that Kenn®th <br />Mowers quern be authorized to purchase a 21r~ Hevi-Duty Power <br />Propelled Whirlwind Lawn Mower (Toro) from the Falcon <br />Heights Hardware Store at a net cost ®f x.45.00 with <br />trade-in on the present lacxrra mower. Ayess All. <br />Nayss None. Motion was carried. <br />University of Minnesota Treasurer Olsen gave short report on luncheon meeting <br />Fire School Luncheons h® had attended in conjunction with the Fire School <br />which was held on the Univ®rsity Farm Campus. <br />Water Com~ection Charge After review, Strandquist moved, seconded by Black that <br />Uncollectibles the water connection charge due the Village from 1816 <br />Tatum Street be deemed uncollectible due to the fact <br />that previous oener was deceased. <br />Resolution Providing Stone introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />for the Issuance and <br />Sale off` Storm Sewer BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of Falcon Heights <br />Improvem®nt Bonds of as follows <br />1:966: WHEREAS, the Village Council of Said Village has hereto- <br />fore determined to construct storm sewer improvements and <br />appurtenances thereto, in the Village, and <br />WHEREAS, the Village Council has entered into contracts <br />for the construction of said improvements, and <br />WHEREAS, no other obligations have been issued to defray <br />the expense of said improvements, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />Village of Falcon Heights, as follows: <br />1. The Village shall forthwith issue its negotiable coupon <br />general obligation bonds to be known as 'Storm Sewer Improvement <br />Bonds of 1966~~ in the aggregate principal amount of X77,000 to be <br />
