985 .. <br />REGULAR MEETING THURSDAY April 10, 1958. <br />i~~~eeting ivas called to order at 7:30 P. '."., the following Council T~Iembers being <br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, ~~ayor; Geo. Shavor, Trustee; uuillis i~arkentien, <br />Trustee, Paul Coppini, Trustee; ti~Im. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were Frank <br />N. Graham, Village Attorney; ilrm. Olsen, Treasurer; Nick Christensen, 3uilding <br />Inspector, and Ethel E. ulhite, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. P,4inutes <br />of the Special T.Reeting of T~arch 24th, and the Re{~ular rieeting of T~~arch 27th <br />were approved. as submitted. <br />Fire Dept. Letter of April 8th, from Henry J. Dachtera, Secretary of the <br />Relief Falcon Heights Fire Department Relief Association, regarding <br />Assn. investment of X7000.00 of the Special Fund ?honey in the ".~innesota <br />Federal Savings & Loan Association, was read; and after discussion, <br />it was moved by Utecht and seconded by i~iarkentien that the Falcon <br />Heights Fire Department Relief Association be authorized to <br />deposit X7000.00 of its Special Fund ::"?oney in the T4in~ esota <br />Federal Savings and Loan Association, subject to formal action <br />by the '~?oard. P.7otion unanimously carried. <br />Drainage Letter of April 7th, from the County Auditor's Office, regarding <br />Area C pumping surplus water from the Gottfried Pit into Lake Como was <br />read and referred to Village A±.±.orney CJraham for further study. <br />Fire Letter of April 10th, from Chief Grumke, of the Falcon Heights <br />School Volunteer Fire Dopartment, regarding telephone request from <br />Chief Arthur Spotswood., retired training chief of the Minneapolis <br />Fire Department, that Falcon Weights furnish a pumper for their <br />use in some of the classes at the coming fire school, was read. <br />After discussion, it v,~as moved by Nilsen and seconded by Shavor <br />that Chief Crumke be granted permission to send a pumper over to <br />the Fire School; the men attending t1~e fire school to take it <br />over. A~~otion unanimously carried. <br />• Chief Grumke advised that the three men who indicated they <br />could attend the fire school were Herb Lier, Richard Detib7itte, <br />and himself. It U+as moved by '~~i ~rkentien and seconded by Coz~nini <br />that these men be enrolled in t'-e fire school. °."otion unanimously <br />carried. <br />Fire chief Grumke recommended that membership in the State Fire Chiefs' <br />Chiefs' Association be .renewed for F;arl tis'". Grumke, Chief; CGordy Nelson, <br />Assn. Asst. Chief; and V. J. Hermes, Asst. Chief. It eras moved by <br />Utecht and. seconded by Nilsen that these men be enrolled. ".:ot,ion <br />unanimously carried. <br />Parking Le±.ter of P:~arch 31st, from E. J. Pennig, regarding interviews with <br />Lots. Hermes and Labalestra regarding dust and dirt as well as traffic <br />control at the `_r perking lots ~^ras read; and after discussion, it <br />was decided th='t Frank Graham, Village Attorney, should work on <br />an ordinance coverin~~ parking lot control regarding dust and <br />traffic. Engineer Ljungren stated that covering the parking lot <br />with a coating of calcium chloride should take care of thedust <br />condition for about a year. <br />Village It :^ras agreed to permit the Lauderdale Civil Defense Organization <br />Nall to hold their meetings at our pillage Hall whenever possible -- <br />they to check with us weekly to see if hall was free. <br />
