<br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 22nd, 1958.
<br />Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M. with the following Council
<br />Members present: Harold Nilsen, Mayor; Geo. Shavor, Trustee; Paul
<br />Coppini, Trustee; Wm. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were Frank N. Graham,
<br />Village Attorney, Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer, and Ethel E. White, Deputy
<br />Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. Absent: Willis ilfarkentien, Trustee.
<br />Minutes of the Special Meeting of May 13th were approved as submitted.
<br />Weeds Letter of May 20th from Eugene A. Monick, County Auditor, regarding
<br />weeds, was read and the clerk instructed to refer it to Mr. William
<br />Carroll, Village Weed Inspector.
<br />Street Letter of May 1ltth from Attorney Graham stating copies had been made
<br />Resur- of the original letter of Toltz, King, Duval, Anderson and Associates
<br />facing Inc., dated May 12th, 1958 to the Village Council relating to the break-
<br />down of engineering and inspection costs, and sent to Trustee Shavor,
<br />Trustee Warkentien and Trustee Coppini was read and filed.
<br />Sewer Copy of letter of May 1l~th written by Attorney Graham to City Clerk,
<br />Rental City of St. Paul, advising he was sending him certificate of Wm. R.
<br />Increase Utecht, Clerk, Falcon Heights, certifying that the Village of Falcon
<br />Heights Village Council on May 8th, 1958, passed a resolution assent-
<br />ing to the temporary increase in "Annual Charges" and binding itself
<br />to the City of St. Paul for the payment of the increased charges as
<br />set out in the-copy of the resolution containing the certificate was
<br />read and filed.
<br />Sewer Copy of letter of May 1ltth, written by Attorney Graham to John J.
<br />Assess- Dudley, Deputy County Auditor, advising him the Village of Falcon
<br />ment Heights Sewer Assessment was made on the basis of ~8.9b per front foot,
<br />was read and filed.
<br />Gott- ,Copy of letter from Attorney Graham, dated May 1ltth, to Mayor Nilsen,
<br />fried calling attention to the fact ~~h t the Village of Falcon Heights and
<br />Pit the Village of Roseville will,~p'~ay~to the County of Ramsey one-third
<br />of the cost of construction of a pumping station and Force main at
<br />the pit within thirty days after the completion of the pumping
<br />station and force main.~~~~i.ll that the Village of Falcon Heights and
<br />the Village of Roseville~w pay to the County one-third of the
<br />County's share of the cost of an over-flow from Lake Como into the
<br />City of St. Paul's sewers, as well as one-third of the annual cost
<br />of operating and maintaining the pumping station and force main each
<br />year. His letter also stated that Engineer L~ungren had reported the
<br />Falcon Heights' share of cost of pumping station and force main at
<br />X7.2,000.00, based upon County Engineer's estimates that were supposedly
<br />accurate. Mayor Nilsen reported that the final costs of force main
<br />and pumping station were given by the County Engineer's Offic® at
<br />~5l~,000.00, and that costs of the Lake Como overflow and yearly oper-
<br />ational costs were not known. Approval of the resolution was not given
<br />pending further study of the Falcon Heights portion of costs and with
<br />the feeling that the Village's share based on recent figures is too high.

<br />Letter of May 12th from Eugene A. Monick, County Auditor, stating
<br />had received notice from the Secretary of State setting the dates
<br />the State and County Primary Election as September 9th, 1958, and
<br />State and Gounty~.General Election as November ~.th, 1958, was read
<br />to the Deputy Clerk for reply.
