1008 <br />Parks Letter of May 1ltth from Attorney Graham to Trustee Shavor, referring <br />to the statute authorizing municipalities to require development firms <br />to set land aside for parks, was read. It is 9ttorney Graham's opinion <br />that section 462.645 of the State of Minnesota which was passed in 195? <br />is only applicable to the redei~elopment corporations, such as those <br />formed in the cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul whose main pur- <br />pose is to replace slum districts with residential or residential <br />and business areas. <br />MGI It was moved by Utecht and seconded by Coppini that Master Gas <br />License Installer's License #87 for Rod Button, 1401 Asbury, be approved. <br />Motion unanimously carried. <br />League Letter from the League of Minnesota Municipalities, stating their <br />of Minn. convention was to be held in Minneapolis, at the Hotel Pick- <br />Mun. Nicollet, June 11, 12, and 13th was read. Attorney Graham plans to <br />attend the Attorneys' meeting. <br />Drainage Mayor Nilsen-read a letter from one of the residents living ad3acent <br />Area to this area, regarding the fact that cars are driving through the <br />Idaho & drainage area, crossing and recrossing it. Engineer L3ungren was <br />Snelling asked to see that the barricades are widened, It was determined <br />also that he have someone smooth the ground to where it can be <br />seeded or sodded and cut. It was also suggested that this would be <br />a good place for Horse Shoe Pits. Coppini will investigate. <br />Parking It was moved by Nilsen and seconded by Utecht that the matter of a <br />Lot Ord. parking lot ordinance be referred to Shavor for study and recommenda- <br /> tions. Motion unanimously carried. <br />Trash It was moved by Nilsen and seconded by Shavor that the ordinance <br />Burning regarding the burning of trash and containers for burning be <br />Ord. referred to Clerk Utecht. Motion unanimously carried. <br />H. L. Letter of May 22nd, from N. L. Hermes, 1709 Snelling Avenue, No., <br />Hermes stating: "We propose to dispose of these open trash burners immed- <br />Trash lately, and are today advising the following that rubbish is no <br />Burning longer to be dumped and burned in open trash turners: Falcon <br />Heights Pharmacy, Stellian Company, Falcon Heights Fost Office and <br />Lido Cafe. Naturally, we, N. L. Hermes Flower & Gift Shop, will <br />also abide by this proposal." was read and filed. <br />Flame- The matter of a building permit covering the addition at the <br />burger Flameburger was discussed and referred to Trustee Shavor with the <br />understanding that it would be approved by the rest of the Council <br />if Shavor felt that Flameburger could build this addition and <br />still have ample parking space. <br />T. C. Letter from the Twin Cities Metropolitan Planning Comm. stating they <br />Met. would hold their annual meeting and election of officers on June 4, <br />Planning 1958, 1:30 P. M. at the Midway Y. M. C. A., and advising that they <br />Comm, had moved to 335 Griggs~idway Building, University at Fairview, St. <br />Paul, 4; that they were also holding open house at their headquarters <br />June 4th, from 11 A. M. to !~ P. M. was read and referred to David <br />Cartwright, Chairman Falcon Heights Planning Commission. <br />
