MINUTES SPECIAL 1~4EETING JULY 31st, 1958. <br />~G::~_l <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:30 P. M., the following Council Members being <br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; Geo. Shavor, Trustee; Willis V'darkentien, <br />Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee; and Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were <br />Frank N. Graham, Village Attorney; 1im. E. Olsen, Treasurer; Vern Ljungren, Village <br />Engineer, and Ethel E. ~tJhite, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. <br />~~?embers of the Council hadn't had time to read the minutes of the previous meet- <br />ing. Therefore they were held over until the next regular meeting for approval <br />or change. <br />On Sale ~ After discussion it was moved by Utecht, seconded by Nilsen and <br />Beer Li- unanimously voted to grant an ON SALE B"~R LICENSE to Nick Lab- <br />cense, Lido alestra, Lido Cafe, 1611 W. Larpenteur Avenue. <br />Plumber's It was moved by Coppini, seconded by Shavor and unanimously <br />License voted to grant MASTER PLUr4BER'S LICENSE #2!~ to Albert E. Le- <br /> Vasseur, Park Plumbing and Heating Co., 1'779 Selby Ave., St. Paul. <br />MGI It was moved by Nilsen, seconded by Utecht and unanimously voted <br />License to tyrant MASTER GAS INSTALLER'S LICEPdSE #118 to R. W. Button, <br /> Rod Button Heating Service, 1lt01 Asbury, St. Paul, 13. <br />Bldg. Permit Falcon Cleaners request for permit to construct an outdoor <br />Incinerator.. commercial incinerator, 14 bu. capacity, as per drawings and <br />F. H. Cleaners pictures submitted, approximate cost $162.00, was submitted to <br /> the Fire Chief for checking as to fire hazzard, height of chimney, <br /> smoke nuisance, etc: Chief Nelson was .also asked to check with <br /> the Chief of the Fire Prevention Bureau. <br />Play- Mr. Edmunds, Playground Architect, St. Paul, submitted plans <br />grounds showing his recommendations as to playground facilities in the <br /> Autumn Woods area. He will write a letter to Mayor Nilsen, <br /> stating these recommendations and provide additional copies of <br /> plans. Mayor Nilsen will then contact Dean Masey of the Univer- <br /> sity of Minnesota to see if they will approve the plans; and, if <br /> so, for how long a period of time the University might grant <br /> permission to use property immediately south of Roselawn and west <br /> of Falcon Woods #1. <br />Tatum St. Follwing is a tabulation of contract costs submitted by Ljungren. <br />Larp. to Original Contract amount ~8,673.1~5. Change Of+der #1 deduct <br />Roselawn 962,194.22. Change order #2 add 96169.00. Cost based on units of <br /> work performed to 12:00 noon on July 31st, 1958 together with anti- <br /> cipated units to complete the job, 97,308.56. Ghange order #3, <br /> 670 sq. ft. reconstruct concrete driveways at 75¢ a square foot <br /> X502.50. It became necessary to remove some driveways because of <br /> the steep grade from the street to the garage. It is Ljungren's <br /> feeling that concrete removed should be replaced to the property <br /> line. Contractor was asked to obtain bids, which he did, the <br /> lowest being 75¢ per sq. ft., which price might seem high but it <br /> should be borne in mind that these are all small pours which <br /> must be matched to existing concrete drives, walks, etc. It was <br /> moved by Coppini, seconded by Shavor and unanimously voted that <br /> Change order #3 as follows be approved. "Change order #3: Replace <br /> concrete iri driveways removed due to grade revision, from edge of <br /> still existing concrete to property line at 18119, 1845, 1823, 1815, <br /> 1811 and 1824 Tatum. 670 sq. ft. concrete driveway reconstruction <br /> $6502.50. It was pointed out by Ljungren that we have salvaged 6 <br />
