~~~~ <br />NOW TNL-;PEFOF~E ?3E IT RESOLVED By the Village Council of <br />Falcon Heights: <br />(1) Such plans and specifications, a copy of which are <br />filed in the office of the Village Clerk are hereby approved. <br />(2) The Village Glerk shall prepare and cause to be in- <br />serted in the Rose Tribune an advertisment for bids upon the <br />making of such improvements under such approved plans and <br />specifications. The advertisement shall be published once <br />on August 21st, 1958; shall specify the vrork to be done; <br />shall state that bids will be opened and considered by the <br />Council at 7:3U P. ~~. on Tuesday, September 2r.,d, 1958 in <br />the Council Chambers of the Village Hall and that no bids <br />will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk, <br />accompanied by a certified check or 3idder's Rond payable to <br />the Village Clerk for not less than 10~ of the amount of such <br />bid. <br />Gage Ljungren advised that Gage wants to start grading streets and <br />Develop- Ljungren says he is going to give him standard state specifi- <br />ment cations for roads, including the bituminous curbing which <br />costs about ~1.OU per lineal foot as is being done by such <br />villages as ~~~aplewood. Ljungren also suggested that Falcon <br />Heights adopt the State Specifications, and Attorney Graham <br />is going to study them with regard to incorporating what vre <br />need into a street ordinance. <br />California litecht mentioned that California Avenue is ruined that that the <br />.Avenue County doesn't want to do anything more than seal coat it. It <br />was suggested that Utecht write the County Engineer regarding <br />this matter. <br />Special A special meeting was set for Thursday, August 21st, 7:30 F'. '~~. <br />:reetings <br />A special meeting to open bids on the alley improvements was <br />set for September 2nd, at 7:30 P. r4. F <br />Huilding Pdick Christensen asked for permission to collect building <br />Permits permit fees at the time they are applied for because of the <br />fact that he spends so much time and then wY;en people do not <br />go through v.~ith these s~-~aller jobs, he is out a lot of time <br />for which he receives no compensation. He vy~as told to do as <br />he wishes regarding this matter. <br />The Deputy Clerk was instructed to write to tapir. Husby, Falcon <br />Oil Company, asking him to appear before the Council August <br />21st, regarding the extensive concrete work he had done without <br />taking out a permit.
