SPECI4L P~iLETING SEPTET.ZBER 2nd, 1958. <br />~~~~ <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:I~0 P. ;., the following Council ~~Iembers being <br />present: Willis Warkentien, Trustee; Paul Coppiri, Trustee; and 1`Jm. R. Utecht, <br />Clerk. .Also present were crank N. Graham, Village attorney; Vern Ljungren, <br />Village Engineer; and Ethel E. ~1'Jhite, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. Absent: <br />Harold C. Nilsen, iaayor; George Shavor, Trustee; and Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer. <br />The ~~inutes were not available for approval. <br />Bids Alley Pvieeting was called to order to receive bids as advertised in the <br />Improvements Rose Tribune, August 21st, and the advertisment was read. <br />T. A. Schifsky & Sons, Inc., 361 iRi. County Road %., St. Paul, <br />12, ??inne;:ota, submitted the only bid received which totalled <br />~5,297.~5. <br />It was moved by Ltecht, seconded by Varkentien and unanimously <br />voted. that the bid be turned over to the attorney for checking <br />and recommendation. Attorney Graham reported that it eras in <br />good form. <br />Ljungren checked extensions and unit prices and reported they <br />all checked out. Ljungren also reported Schifsky's bid was <br />~295.G0 under his estimate; and on that basis he believes the <br />bid to be reasonable and recommends it acceptance. The cost of <br />the work on each alley is to be shown separately on the bill. <br />It was moved by Warkentien, seconded. by Coppini and unanimously <br />voted to accept the following resolution: <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID: <br />WHEREAS, Pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improve- <br />ment of the following alleys: <br />1. The alley between Iowa and HoytAvenues from Pascal to <br />Albert Avesnues to be improved by grading, base construction, <br />and bituminous surfacing. <br />2. The "T" alley in the block bounded by Iowa., Hamline, Hoyt <br />and Albert Avenues to be improved by grading, base, construction <br />and bituminous sr~rfacing. <br />3. The alley between California and Idaho Avenues from Aroma <br />to Pascal Avenues to be improved by base correction, surface <br />repair and seal coating. <br />!aids were received and opened according to law; and the following <br />bid was received complying ~rrith the advertisment: <br />T. A. Schifsky ~ Sons, Inc., 361 Vv`. County Road E., St. Paul, <br />12, ".iinnesota ~5,297.~5, and <br />WHEREAS it appears that T. A.
