The alley between Hoyt & Iowa Avenues from Pas Cal <br />to Albert Avenues to be improved by grading, base con- <br />struction, and bituminous surfacing.. <br />2. The "T" alley in the block bounded by Iovra, Hamline, <br />~~oyt and Albert Avenues to be improved b~T grading, base <br />construction and bituminous s~zrfacing. <br />3. The alley between California and Idaho ~~venues from <br />Arena to Pascal Avenues to be improved by base correction, <br />surface repair and seal coating <br />9ccording to .plans and specifications approved by the 'Village <br />Council and on file in the Gf~ice of the Village Clerk. <br />Falcon titioods <br />Streets Vern Ljungren reported tha+ Ray Sina is supposed to start work <br />Ndednesday. <br />Plumber's All the requirements having been met, it .was moved by tidarkentien, <br />License seconded by Coppini and unanimously voted to grant :.faster <br />Plumber's License #25 to Richard N. Alquist, Alquist ~; Clark, <br />791 Raymond Ave. , St. Paul, 1~~, t:~inn. <br />Recreation Letter from Jean H. ¶~iacey, University of Pdinnasot,a, dated <br />Area ,August 28th, acknowledging receipt of ~~ayor Nilsen's letter of <br />August 18th, and. the accompanying map, was read. Dean Papacy <br />stated; "Due to the fact that so many of our people are away <br />on vacation, I have not been able to get the necessary people <br />together to discuss your proposal. I hope that we'll be able <br />to arrange a conference before ;;eptember 15th." <br />Falcon 6Voods Attorney Graham's letter to Mayor Nilsen vJas read. It advised <br />Add. #2. that before Falcon Heights ca.n extend or enlarge the sewer <br />system beyond original plans, complete plank and spec if ications <br />for the proposed extension must be submitted to the St. Paul <br />City Council and approved by them by resolution. Ljungren <br />will prepare necessary petition to be signed by Gage and owners <br />of property proposed to be platted which will initiate proceedings <br />to have the streets and sewers put in the plat of Falcon a+'oods <br />Addition #2. <br />Ruggles St. Gale Libby and Dick y~eatherston appeared before the Council to <br />discuss drainage on Ruggles St. During the conversation, it ti~;as <br />brought out that when Ruggles Street was widened ~ feet, part <br />of the ditches was filled in, t}iereby changing the pitch, the <br />fill is being washed out from under the finished surface of the <br />road, which fills culverts, stops flow of water and causes ex- <br />pensive cleaning and maintenance. It was su~*gested by Ljungren <br />that the best way to remedy the situation would be to clEan the <br />ditches out, lower them about 3", cover the street side and <br />bottom of ditches with a bituminous surfacing, this surfacing <br />to be extended about 1 foot up the boulevard side of the ditch, <br />the property owners to immediately sod that portion of the <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
