MINUTES REGULAR MEETING SEPT. 25, 1958. <br />Meeting was called to order at 6:00 P. M., the following Council Members being <br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; Geo. Shavor, Trustee; Willis Warkentien, <br />Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee; and Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were <br />Frank N. Graham, Village Attorney, Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer; Vern L~ungren, <br />Village Engineer; and Ethel E. White, Dep. Clerk and Dep.. Treasurer. <br />The Minutes of the meeting of September 11th were !approved as submitted. <br />Street After discussion, it was moved by Shavor, seconded by Coppini and <br />Lighting unanimously voted that Northern States Contract for Street Lighting <br /> be renewed. Papers were signed and delivered to Mr. Vanelli, rep- <br /> resentative of Northern States Power Company. <br />Invest- It was moved by Utecht, seconded by Shavor and unanimously voted <br />ments to adopt the following resolution presented by Attorney Graham: <br /> RESOLUTION REGARDING INVESTMENT OF SANITARY.SENiF:R SYSTEM N0. 1- <br /> SINKING FUND ACCOUNT FUNDS: <br />WHEREAS, The Village now has on deposit at the Falcon Heights <br />State Bank in its "Sanitary Sewer System No. 1- Sinking Fund <br />Account" the sum of X59,734.87 and <br />WHEREAS, These funds will-not be needed until after December 26th, <br />1958, to meet the payments of principal and interest due January <br />1st, 1959 on the Sanitary Sewer System No. 1- Bonds of the Village; <br />NOVP THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of Falcon <br />Heights, Minnesota: <br />I. The Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to purchase <br />for the "Sanitary Sewer System No. 1- Sinking Fund Account" of the <br />Village of Falcon Heights, X60,000.00 United States Treasury Bills <br />due December 26th, 1958 through the Investment Department of the <br />First National Bank of St. Paul and to drax the necessary check on <br />the said account for the purchase of said bills. <br />2. The First National Bank of St. Paul is hereby authorized and <br />directed to hold the said bills in its Safekeeping Department, for <br />the Village of Falcon Heights, to issue its safekeeping receipt <br />therefore to William E. Olsen, Village Treasurer, to cash in the <br />said Bills promptly on December 26th, 1958 and to deposit immediately <br />the entire proceeds in the "Village of Falcon Heights, Sanitary Sewer <br />System No. 1-, Sinking Fund Account" at the Falcon Heights State Bank. <br />Vacation Letter of September 15th from Attorney Graham to Willis Warkentien, <br />of regarding vacation of alleys was read. It advised this proceeding <br />alleys is governed by section lt12.851 of the Minnesota Stats. <br />Rental After discussion, it was moved by Utecht, seconded by Nilsen and <br />of hall unanimously voted that the Clerk write Sharon Boland that the Village <br />for Attorney advised the Council the Village Hall is intended primarily <br />dancing for Civic Meetings and advised against renting it for other <br />classes purposes. <br />Soil After discussion, it was moved by Warkentien, seconded by Coppini <br />Testing and unanimously voted to pay Twin City Testing and Engineering <br />Laboratory, Inc. $125.50 out of construction fund to cover their <br />invoice #65447 for Field Investigation and Tests Sept. 11th. <br />
