Keller, 886 Edmund, St. Paul, <br />!t, Minnesota ~llt,272.50 total. <br />Walbon Excavating Co., 3242 Highway 8, Minneapolis, 8, <br />Minnesota ~11~,882.67 total. <br />Avoles Contracting Co., 779 E. 7th St., St. Paul, 6, <br />Minnesota X13,091.79 total. <br />AND WHEREAS it appears that Avoles Contracting Company, 779 <br />E. 7th St., St. Paul, 6, is the lowest bidder and that their <br />bid is X306.10 higher than the Engineer's Estimate, and Mr. <br />Gage, Developer of Falcon Woods No. 2, who was present at the <br />meeting, advised the Engineer that he had no objection to the <br />awarding of the contract on the Avoles bid, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCII, OF THE <br />VILLAGE OF FALCON HEIGHTS MINNESOTA: <br />1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed <br />to enter into a contract with Avoles Contracting Co., 779 E. <br />7th St., St. Paul, 6, Minnesota in the name of the Village of <br />Falcon Heights for the improvement of the following streets: <br />Prior Avenue from Autumn St. to Summer St. <br />Summer St. from Moore Avenue to Howell Ave. <br />Moore .Ave. from Summer St. south to and including <br />cul-de-sac. <br />Howell .Avenue from Summer St. south to and including <br />cul-de-sac <br />by street grading, sanitary sewer construction and gravel base <br />construction according to plans and specifications therefor <br />approved by the Village Council and on file in the office of <br />the Village Clerk. <br />2. The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to <br />return forthwith to all bidders the bid bonds sumitted with <br />their bids except that the bid bond of the successful bidder <br />and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract <br />has been signed. <br />Assessment The meeting on the Assessment Hearing opened at 7:30 P. M. <br />Hearing Mayor Nilsen read the Notice of Hearing on Proposed Assess- <br />Tatum St. ment for Street Grading and Storm Sewer Construction of Tatum <br />Street as published in the Rose Tribune September 18th and <br />25th, 1958. <br />Engineer Ljungren advised the original estimate was $8,673.45. <br />There were several change orders issued deleting and adding <br />certain processes. Project was entirely completed for X7,991.81, <br />to which was added the cost of Advertisement for Bids, Engineer- <br />ing Fees, including staking, etc., and rreparation of Assessment <br />Roll which brought the net cost to $9,218.06, of which ~6,659.l~2 is <br />being assessed - making the assessment for a 75' lot X108.00. <br />Nilsen said he thought the assessment as set up is about as <br />fair a break-dawn of the cost as could be expected. <br />Nilsen asked if there were any questions. <br />Jean Kammer said nearly~$Lt000.00 had been eliminated and asked <br />why the assessment still came to X108.00. Ljungren advised <br />
