REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 9th, 1958. <br />__:1093 <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P. M., the following Council Members being <br />present: Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk; Geo. Shavor, Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee. <br />Also present were Vim. E. Olsen, Treasurer; and Ethel E. V~hite, Deputy Treasurer <br />and Deputy Clerk. Absent: Harold C. Nilsen, Priayor and Willis Niarkentien, <br />Trustee; also Frank N. Graham, Attorney. <br />Minutes of the regular meeting of September 25th were approved as corrected. <br />Gas Rate Letter of October 8th from Northern States Power Company, re- <br />Increase garding gas rate increases was read and filed. <br />Venetian Quotation on material necessary for repairing blinds from R. E. <br />Blinds Hulme Awning & Shade Co., lt05 So. Robert St. was read., and after <br />discussion, it was moved by Utecht, seconded by Coppini and <br />unanimously voted to instruct the Deputy Clerk to contact the <br />R. E. Hulme Company and. ask that they furnish necessary repair <br />material for the blinds in the dormitory and one blind in the <br />office. <br />Arrival Mayor Mayor Nilsen arrived at 7:20 P. M. <br />Deputy Clerk's After discussion, it was moved by Utecht, seconded by Shavor and <br />Salary In- unanimously voted that :,Itrrs. W`hite's salary be increased from <br />crease $1.50 per hour to 9~1.b22 per hour, retroactive to September 1st, <br />1958. <br />Street work Letter of August 7th from Harry S. L?ronson, County Engineer, re- <br />bill garding sprinkling of Arona and painting and repairing barricade <br />on Iowa was read. After discussion, it was moved by Shavor, <br />seconded by Coppini and unanimously voted that we pay the charge <br />for sprinkling Arona, but write Bronson advising him that we <br />still consider the charge for painting the barricade excessive; <br />also pointing out that whereas Bronson mentions repairs and <br />painting, the barricade was painted only -- no repairs. <br />Fire Dept. It was reported that a citizen called to deliver some material <br />at the Fire Department Tuesday, October 7th, at 7 P. M., went <br />through the building and couldn't find anyone. After dis- <br />cussion, this matter was referred to Gordon Nelson, Fire Chief, <br />for checking and report to the Council. <br />Fire Dept. Letter of September 26th, from B. H. Ha~mersten, Clerk Roseville, <br />Mutual Aid was read. Letter acknowledged receipt of resolution and stated <br />Agreement they were in agreement except that we had excluded the "Runs to <br />Roseville will be -^ade at no charge." It was the opinion of the <br />Council that this was understood and letter was held for referral <br />to Attorney Graham at a later date. <br />Fireman's Message of October lst from John Klein, County Auditor's Office <br />Relief was read. It stated the law Chap. 275.01 specifies amount to <br />be levied should be specified in dollars and cents, not millage. <br />It was decided to refer this matter to Attorney Graham at a <br />later date. <br />b4GI License All requirements having been met, it was moved by Nilsen, seconded <br />by Coppini and unanimously voted to grant Master Gas Installer's <br />License #121 to Dick b~~eatherston, dba Associated ~Zechanieal <br />Services, Inc., 2l~Gb University Ave., St. Paul, 1l~. <br />
