REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 23rd, 1958. <br />-1097. <br />Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P. Vii., the following Council ~'~embers being <br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, R4ayor; George Shavor, Trustee; ~ffillis V'darkentien, <br />Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee and Wm. R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were <br />Frank N. Graham, Village Attorney, Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer; Nick Christensen, <br />Bldg. Inspector, Vern Ljungren, Village Engineer and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk <br />and Deputy Treasurer. <br />The Minutes of the Special A~eeting of October bth were approved as corrected. <br />The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 9th were approved as submitted. <br />Census: Utecht read letter of October 17th from the Tevin Cities t~tetropolitan <br />Planning Commission regarding census, and it was the unanimous opin- <br />ion of the Council that there was no real need for the block enumer- <br />ation; and information to be gained did not warrant the expense. <br />Falcon Woods Letter of October 1l~th from Lax. Graham stating he had checked <br />No. 2. Avoles necessary papers and that they were in proper form and that the con- <br />Contract. tract had been signed, was read. and filed. <br />Sewer Falcon Attorney Graham's letter of Octtober 16th regarding the construction <br />Woods No. 2. of sanitary sewers in Falcon Woods No. 2 was read, It stated that <br />the St. Paul City Council had passed a resolution, Council File <br />189503, authorizing the construction of the sanitary sewers in <br />Falcon ti~`oods No. 2 and included a copy of the resolution. <br />Cigarette All requirements having been met, it was moved by Coppini, seconded <br />License by Shavor and unanimously voted to issue Cigarette License #100 <br />to Tna M. Forsman, Flameburger, 1533 V"d. Larpenteur. <br />Sewer All requirements having been met, it was moved by ~:~arkentien, <br />Installer's seconded by Shavor and unanimously voted to grant Sewer Installer's <br />License License to Clement J. Schmitz, 1093 .Arcade, St. Paul, b, Minn. <br />Plumber's All requirements having been met, it was moved by Nilsen, seconded <br />License by Shavor and unanimously voted to grant ~~aster Plumber's License <br />#27 to Otto Swoboda, dba D. W. Hickey & Co., Inc., 18.1 University <br />Avenue, St. Faul, 1~, Minnesota. <br />Sewer Conn. Bids from Crogness Sewer Construction Company and .Axel Newman <br />Village Hall Plumbing and Heating Company for making the sewer connection at <br />the Village Hall were read, and after discussion it was moved by <br />Coppini, seconded by Utecht and unanimously voted that the contract <br />for the connection of the Village Hall Plumbing System to the <br />Sanitary Sewer be granted to the low bidder, Axel Newman Plumbing <br />and Heating Company for X75.00. Permit to be issued but the fee <br />waived. <br />Plumb~tg Plumbing Inspector Wm. Jastrow's recommendation regarding the rais- <br />Permit ` ing of Plumbing Permit Fees was read., and after discussion, it was <br />Fees decided that Shavor should contact Jastrow and check into the <br />matter with him. <br />Fi:r~~Dept. Chief Nelson's report that the paid man and two other fellows were <br />in the dormitory watching television at the time a citizen reported <br />going through the building and not finding anyone was read and filed. <br /> <br />
