SPECIAL ~4EETING OCTOBER 30, 1958. 1103 <br />Meeting was called to order at 6:30 P. M., the following Council Members being <br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, 2asayor; Geo. Shavor, Trustee; V,~illis Warkentien, <br />Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee and Wm. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were Frank <br />P1. Graham, Village Attorney, Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer and Ethel E. Vuhite, Deputy <br />Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. <br />Sanitary Letter of October 23rd from Toltz, King, Duvall, Anderson & Associates <br />Sewer itemizing total construction casts for the Sanitary Sewer System <br />System Improvement No 1, part 1 and part 2, Commission #3645 v~ras read. It <br />Improvement stated: <br />No. 1. <br />Peter Lametti Construction Company final contract price including <br />extras and deductions for credits X6648,842.75 <br />Jay 'N. Craig Company final contract price including extras and <br />deducting for credits 88,589.22,. <br />Total contract price for Part 1 and Part 2 construction <br />737,431.97 <br />Engineering, staking and inspection costs total 69,963.64 <br />Total contract cost including engineering, staking and inspection <br />cost 807,395.61 <br />Copy of letter of October 28th from County Engineer Harry S. Bronson <br />to ~~Tr. Arndt J. Duvall was read. It stated: ~'~tork recently completed <br />on Garden !venue and Hamline Avenue meets all the requirements of <br />this department, therefare it may be considered satisfactorily com- <br />pleted. As to California Avenue and Pascal .Avenue -- this is a <br />village street and you should deal directly with the Village of <br />Falcon Heights." <br />Steffes advised the County had agreed to seal California and he <br />would get in touch with Ljungren regarding having this done before <br />the weather gets cold. <br />Steffes advised Toltz, King, Duvall, Anderson 3c Associates would <br />check the sewer lines with either flash-lights or mirrors, depend- <br />ing on the weather, within the next couple weeks. They will give <br />us a report showing danger spots or spots that will need extra <br />flushing. If inspection shows that some lines may need more <br />flushing than others, it will 'ee made clear. <br />It was agreed that the Village would send a man with the tank <br />truck and oxygen when inspection is made in case the need for either <br />should arise. If weather conditions are favorable, inspection <br />should take about three days. It was recommended that Stanley P. <br />Schultz, a resident, full-time fireman, be the man to accompany <br />the inspection crew and that he be put in charge of the sewer <br />maintenance program. ~iarkentien will call Fire Chief Nelson re- <br />garding this matter. <br />It was moved by Shavor, seconded by ~rarkentien and unanimously <br />voted to pay Peter Lametti Construction Company 4b25,000.00 and <br />Jay W. Craig Company $3000.00 out of the Construction Fund Account <br />to be payment on account of the final estimates submitted by Mr. <br />Steffes. Per. Steffes is to advise Craig and Lametti that the <br />Village will check the final estimates and pay the rerpa~nder as <br />soon as possible. <br />
