MINUTES REGULAR MEETING FEB. 11th, 1959. <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P. M. with the following Council Members <br />present: Harold C. Nilsen, Mayor; George J. Shavor, Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee <br />and K:illiam R. Utecht, Clerk. Also present were Frank N. Graham, Village Attorney; <br />Wm. E. Olsen, Village Treasurer; Vern J. Ljungren, Village Engineer, Nick Christen- <br />sen, L~uilding Inspector; and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. <br />Absent: Willis ;4'arkentien, Trustee. <br />The ~2inutes of the regular meeting of January 22nd were approved as submitted. <br />The Minutes of the sbeci:~l meeting of January 29th were approved as submitted, <br />Rldg, It was moved by Utecht, seconded by Nilsen and unanimously voted <br />Permits: ~ that the building Hermit covering the rebuilding of the two 5-stall <br />garages at 15l~2 Snelling Drive be approved <br />1--~ 'J <br />It was moved by Shavor, seconded by Utecht and unanimously voted <br />that the permit for the construction of an lr3' x 4' steel construction <br />sign above Ghin's Kitchen, 1564 Snelling, be approved. <br />Street i,. Letter of February 4th, signed by Sigurd A. Bertels®n, Postmaster, <br />Names: U. S. Post Office was .read. It stated they were calling a meeting <br />in room B-5 of the A1~ain Post Office at 7:30 P. Psi. '!'hursday, February <br />19th for the purpose of cooperation toward eliminating duplicate and <br />similar street names. .Letter was turned over to Vern Ljungren who <br />advisesi he plans to attend the. meeting. <br />Froposed Letter of February 9th from the board of Ramsey County Commissioners <br />Authorization and s:i#ned by J. D. Swan was read. It stated that a meeting was <br />to construct being Held at 1 P. r.R. Friday, February 13th, 1959. The Ramsey County <br />& maintain Senate Delegation will meet at room 327, State Capitol Building to <br />highv~rays with- consider the proposed bill which would authorize the governing '~ody <br />out advertising of any city, village or town in the county to authorize Ramsey <br />for bids: County to construct and maintain any or all its highways without ad- <br /> vertising for bids and permit Ramsey County to sell highway maintenance <br /> and construction materials to other governmental subdivisions t~ercin. <br /> Letter was referred to Engineer Ljun~*ren. <br />Letterer The following letters from Attorney Graham were read and filed for <br /> future reference. <br />2/b/59 summarizing Sanitaz^~f Sevrer Costs to date at X905,2?_1.94. <br />2/5/59 stating statutory provisions relating to snort wave radios. <br />2/5/59 advising that competitive bids will be required in purchase <br />of never squad car <br />2/5/59 regarding Veterans' Preference Lars. <br />yj~ri59 regarding Village of :'alcon Heights - Platting rules and regu- <br />lations. <br />1/30/59 regarding Village of Falcon Heights Public Liability Policy <br />in connection tivith accident on the skating rink at Falcon <br />Heights School. <br />PERA: ~ It was moved by Utecht, seconded by Shavor and unanimously voted to <br />furnish Rut}i 'gown of the PERA office with information regarding <br />Jerome R. Johnson's salary and date of appointanentz <br />Parshall ~ Letter of February 4th, signed by Arnold M. Steffes, of TKDq~rAssoc., <br />Flumes was read and referred to Attorney Graham who will contact Mr. Thompson <br />of the St. Paul Hater Department regarding use of water for flushing <br />at the metering station. <br />
