Nilsen, Mayor; George Shavor, Trustee; Willis Warkentien, <br />Trustee; Paul Coppini, Trustee and Wm. 8. Utecht, Clerk. Also present xere <br />Frank N. Graham, Village Attorney, Vern L~ungren, Village Engineer, Don Arndt, <br />Public Safety Commissioner and Ethel E. White, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer. <br />Absents Wm. E. Olsen, Treasurer. <br />The Minutes of the February 26th meeting xere approved as corrected. <br />Squad Car There xas a: discussion regarding the purchase of a new squad car. <br /> Commissioner Arndt outlined the features he xas looking for and <br /> Attorney Graham xill again check bidding requirements. <br />Truck parking The need for an ordinance regulating the parking of trucks xas <br /> discussed, and after the discussion Coppini moved the adoption <br /> of the folla~ring ordinances <br />Ordinance ORDINANCE N0. 51. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 6 REGU- <br />No. 51 EATING THE USE OF HiC=HY~AYS r~TTHIN THE VILLAGE of FALCON HEIGHTS, <br /> AND IMPOSING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. <br /> Seconded bf Shavor and unanimously carried. <br />Police Regula- Police Regulations xere discussed at length and Attorney Graham <br />tions will revise and. submit copies to Warkentien, Nilsen and Arndt <br /> for their approval before submitting them to the Council. <br />Traffic There xas a discussion regarding placing a Policeman at the <br /> corner of Larpenteur and Snelling at the rush hour to direct <br /> drivers in the right lane to go xith the arroR to eliminate <br /> some of the ru~ah hour congestion. Arndt thought it might <br /> help and it xas decided to try it for a xhile. <br />Change of After discussion, it xas moved by Utecht, seconded b'7 Warkentien <br />Meeting date and unanimously voted that the meeting which would ordinarily <br /> have been held on the 26th be moved up to March 19th because <br /> the 26th falls on Holy Thursday. <br />Streets Water standing on the streets xas discussed. L3ungren advised <br /> he is studying the matter and xill make his recommendations <br /> later. <br />Parks & Memorandum from Curtis Larsen, Chairman, West Falcon Heights Play- <br />Playgrounds ground Committee xas read. Mr, Larson was also present. The <br /> Council indicated approval of their plan to organize xith by-laws, <br /> officers, committees, etc. in order to solicit and expend funds; <br /> and to assembles the necessary manpower on a voluntary basis. It <br /> is their plan to solicit contributions of time and. money, charge <br /> membership fees, with the understanding that any monies raised <br /> or equipment bought xould revert to the Village if for ar~r reason <br /> the project has to be abandoned. The Council confirmed its <br />agreement to move what dirt they need from Gage's stock pile to <br /> the playground site. Attorney Graham thinks it advisable to <br /> contact the University before proceeding xith the xork -- 3ust <br /> to check and see if it is still O, K. xith the University to <br /> haul fill onto the playground site. Larsen expressed the hope of <br /> their committee that the village would be able to contribute some- <br />,. <br />
